💜 Happy Retirement, Payton Fraser! 💜

After 34 years with Blanche River Health, Payton celebrated her final day on July 31!

Payton joined the organization in 1992 and spent more than three decades as a Medical Laboratory Technologist, working carefully behind the scenes to provide important answers that support patient care.

The final lab report is complete: retirement is recommended, no further testing is required and plenty of time to enjoy life has been approved. Payton can officially hang up her lab coat!

🍦 I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! 🍦

Round two of our sweet summer celebrations rolled into Blanche River Health Kirkland Lake site this Thursday! Sporting our signature secondary apron attire, the Wellness Team once again partnered with the Blanche River Health Foundation to serve up scoops, smiles, and all things sweet—because with this summer heat, who could say no to an ice cream sundae? 🍨☀️

A huge thank you to The Pronto Store for generously donating a gift card for our Kirkland Lake staff, as well as once again supplying bags of candy to help make the celebration even sweeter! 🍬🍦

We also want to thank Circle K Canada West in Kirkland Lake for donating a Shell gift card for our staff. Whether it’s topping up the tank, hitting the road for a summer adventure, or grabbing an ice cream treat along the way, this gift card is sure to make someone’s day a little sweeter! 🍦⛽

A special shoutout to our amazing summer students for lending a hand, and to our Dietary Department for supporting the ordering and preparation of our sundae bar items on both event days. It was great seeing so many familiar faces from across the organization, including our Emergency Department nurses, physicians, Board members, and teams from Management, Finance, IT, Health Records, Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging, Lab, Occupational Health, and more, all taking a well-deserved break together!

And the cherry on top? 🍒 Our VP of Clinical Services and Chief Nursing Officer, Samantha Saudino, fully embraced the fun by rocking our giant ice cream sundae costume! Safe to say she understood the assignment and helped make an already sweet afternoon even sweeter!

☀️ Wellness looks good on our team! 🧘💙

At Blanche River Health, we know that supporting the well-being of our staff is just as important as the care we provide to our patients. That’s why we were thrilled to welcome Yogart to both our Englehart and Kirkland Lake sites today for two outdoor yoga sessions led by the wonderful Anny St. Jean.

Staff rolled out their mats, enjoyed the sunshine, and took 30 minutes to move, reset, and reconnect. It was the perfect way to enjoy the beautiful weather while investing in both physical and mental wellness.

After the sessions, everyone enjoyed refreshing treats and a protein-packed snack to keep the positive energy going! 🍋💪

And because summer isn’t over yet, each participant also received sunscreen and SPF lip balm as a friendly reminder that protecting your skin is an important part of staying healthy. With plenty of warm, sunny days still ahead, it’s never too late to practice good UV safety! ☀️🧴

A huge thank you to Anny St. Jean and Yogart Wellness for creating such a fun, welcoming, and relaxing experience for our team. Here’s to making wellness a priority—one stretch at a time! 💙

🍨 Life is sweet... especially with sprinkles on top! 🍒

Today we kicked off our Ice Cream Sundae Bar in Englehart, and it was the cherry on top of everyone's day! Staff took a well-deserved afternoon break to treat themselves to a regular vanilla or lactose-free ice cream and create the ultimate sundae with all kinds of delicious toppings—from sprinkles, peanuts, and Skor pieces to strawberry, peanut butter, and even cotton candy sauces, all finished with a cherry on top. 🍦✨

A huge scoop of thanks goes to Chilly Willy’s Englehart and Englehart Variety Inc for generously donating two gift cards for our staff raffle!

When you're looking to cool down this summer, Chilly Willy’sis the place to be! Whether you're craving a classic cone, a loaded sundae, a creamy milkshake, or another frozen favourite, they've got plenty of sweet treats to satisfy every ice cream lover. 🍦💙
