Engaging in physical self-care not only makes you feel better about yourself, but can also help improve your mental health. It can help to manage your stress and increase your energy levels. 🧖♀️

Give yourself the time that you need to do the things you love, so that you can tackle the harder tasks with ease. 💛

What does self-care look like for you? ☕️

The truth is Father’s Day can hold a lot of different emotions. While many people use this day to show appreciation, it’s important to acknowledge that days like this can feel complicated for a lot of people. For some Father’s Day brings grief, for others it may bring up disappointment, resentment, confusion, or the impact of wounds that are still healing.

Sometimes these holidays don’t just reflect what’s present—they also remind us of what’s missing. And that can feel heavy. So if today feels tender, overwhelming, awkward, or emotionally exhausting there’s nothing wrong with you. You don’t need to pretend this day feels meaningful if it doesn’t. You don’t need to force gratitude to make other people comfortable, and you’re allowed to protect your peace however you need to today.

Whether Father's Day feels warm, painful, numb, complicated, or somewhere in between, your experience is valid.

If this reminded you of someone, send it their way. Sometimes people just need permission to feel what they’re already carrying.

Tomorrow, June 21st, is National Indigenous Peoples Day in Canada. 🌿

Today and every day, we honour the cultures, traditions, and resilience of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples across Turtle Island.

In the context of mental health and healing, Indigenous communities hold rich, holistic traditions that understand wellbeing as a balance of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. The medicine wheel is one beautiful framework that captures this wholeness.

As a therapy practice, we recognise that Western mental health models don't serve everyone equally. Culturally safe, trauma-informed care — care that honours and integrates Indigenous ways of knowing — is essential.

We are committed to ongoing learning, humility, and creating space for all healing traditions.

If you're looking for resources on Indigenous mental health and wellness, we encourage you to explore the work of the First Nations Mental Wellness Continuum Framework and the National Native Mental Health Association of Canada.

💛 We stand in solidarity and in gratitude.

Life transitions can bring uncertainty, excitement, grief, and growth; or all of the above at the same time.

Whether you're starting a new chapter, ending an old one, or feeling stuck somewhere in between, taking time to check in with yourself can help you move forward with greater clarity and self compassion.

These reflection questions aren't meant to give you all the answers. They're meant to help you slow down, reconnect with what matters, and navigate change in a way that feels aligned with who you are.

Which question resonated with you the most? Let me know in the comments. 💛

Happy Autistic Pride Day!

Autistic Pride Day is a time to honour autistic people and recognize neurodiversity as an important part of our world. We celebrate the unique perspectives, strengths, experiences and contributions autistic people bring to our communities.

At Fancy Therapy, we believe everyone deserves to feel understood, supported, and empowered to be their authentic self. We are committed to providing neuro-affirming care that honours each person's individual needs and identity.

Today, Fancy Therapy turns 5! 🎉

Fancy Therapy was built on the belief that everyone deserves access to compassionate, high-quality care, regardless of their background, identity, or income.

We saw a mental health system that often felt inaccessible and disconnected from the people it was meant to serve. So we set out to create something different: a space that is warm, inclusive, and genuinely supportive.

Over the past five years, we've worked to create an environment where people feel seen, heard, and respected. Our team is made up of therapists who are passionate about this work and committed to walking alongside clients through life's challenges with care and expertise.

We're always learning, growing, and improving, but our commitment remains the same: making mental health care more accessible and helping people feel supported every step of the way.

Thank you to every client, therapist, student, community partner, and supporter who has been part of our journey. Your trust means the world to us, and we are honoured to be part of so many stories of growth, healing, and resilience. 💙

Here's to the last five years and to many more to come. ✨

Five years. thousands of clients. One big dream. 🎂✨

On June 17, 2021, Fancy Therapy opened its doors — and honestly, we had butterflies. We were a small team with a big mission: to make mental health support warm, accessible, and stigma-free.

Five years later, we're still here. Still growing. Still showing up for our community every single day. 💛

Here's what 5 years looks like for us:
✨ A team of incredible, passionate therapists
✨ Hundreds of clients supported on their healing journeys
✨ A community that shows up for each other
✨ A commitment to accessible, inclusive mental health care

To every client who trusted us with their story — THANK YOU. You are the reason we do this. 🙏

To our team — you are Fancy Therapy. We wouldn't be here without you. 💛

Here's to 5 more years of breaking stigma, building community, and making mental health care a little more fancy. 🥂

Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming. While there is no one size fits all, these green flags can help you identify a therapist who creates a supportive space where you feel heard, respected and empowered.

Your therapist doesn’t need to be perfect. But if they make a mistake, a green flag is being able to acknowledge it, apologize, and repair with you. Finding the right therapist can take time — and it’s okay if the first fit isn’t the right fit.

Need guidance on finding the right therapist? Take our quick and easy online quiz and let us help you navigate your options.
