Dietetic Directions Dietetic Directions is a nutritional counselling & education company. We are all about eating well & loving life! Professional speaking and Media work available.

One-on-one or couple dietary counselling available with a Registered Dietitian. I want you to have a healthy lifestyle that you can actually enjoy. Why? Because I LOVE food! And food shouldn’t hold you back. I want to help you enjoy what you eat, create healthy habits, and live a deprivation-free life that leaves you feeling great! As a little girl growing up in an Italian-Canadian family, we had family gatherings centered around food. My Nonno was a chef for the Italian army and my Mom studied nutrition. In my opinion, there’s nothing better than a bowl of homemade gnocchi with a fresh tomato sauce! (Just ask and I’ll give you my Nonno’s recipe.) I knew I was meant to become a Registered Dietitian when I realized how passionate I was about helping people, and sharing the joy that comes with having a healthy relationship with food. The ability to learn, teach, and inspire is what brought me into this evolving field. I founded Dietetic Directions in 2012 with the goal of building a place where people could receive personalized, motivational nutrition education that’s science-based and rooted in creating habits that fit your lifestyle. If you’re looking for guidance and support to discover how to eat well and love your life, I can help you every step of the way! Healthfully yours,
Andrea

📌 Save for: Rosemary Roasted Squash Seeds recipe! 🍁

You’re going to love this simple snacking recipe!

Here’s what I did: 👇

½ cup acorn squash seeds (yield from one acorn squash)
½ tsp oil
Sprinkle rosemary, dried
Kosher salt & fresh cracked pepper

🍂 Firstly, pre-heat oven to 300F.
🍂 Scoop out seeds from your squash and set aside in a bowl. Toss away the pulp from the seeds as much as you can. Then transfer seeds into a colander and run under cold water.
🍂 Spread the rinsed squash seeds on a clean towel to allow them to dry.
🍂 In a medium-sized bowl, combine dry, cleaned squash seeds with oil, rosemary, salt and pepper. Stir seeds to coat.
🍂 On a parchment-lined baking sheet, spread the seasoned seeds evenly.
🍂 Finally, roast squash seeds for 10 to 15 minutes in the oven, turning halfway through. You want your seeds to be golden brown. Allow to cool before serving.

Have you tried roasting squash seeds? What’s your favourite flavour combo?

🦃 🍁 Happy Thanksgiving, friends!

Today’s a perfect reminder that food is more than nutrients — it’s connection, comfort, culture, and the joy of sharing a meal with people we love. Whether your plate is classic, creative, or a little bit chaotic, it all counts. 💛

✨ Gentle reminder: You don’t need to “earn” or “make up for” your holiday meal. Enjoy it, savour it, and let it be part of the celebration.

Wishing you a cozy, delicious day filled with gratitude, good company, and maybe a second slice of pie. 🥧 ✨
