BEFRIENDING MERLIN

I was facilitating a Gene Keys session the other day and my client asked me what some good books related to Merlin were. Now, there are many of myth and character exploration to choose from, and when I first began looking years ago it was a dream that lead me to a book by the celtic guide I still work with today.

But when talking with the gentleman I felt no particular book to mention, especially because he is already reading a novel about Merlin (trusting something drew him to that one). Instead I invited him to go and find a tree companion, commune with it, and to pay attention to his dreams. Perhaps like me he might be pointed to a book and teacher, but it may not be necessary. He took this to heart it seems.

The night of the meetup he had dreams of a watery nature, with many different types of trees and some brief appearances by Merlin. In the end a dolphin seemed to guide him to oak, the tree of the druids.

This man is a musician and a bard through and through. I look forward to hearing what comes of his dreaming.

On myths & dreams

It's been a heavy week in some ways and I appreciate this timely message from the Sage...

"The symbol of the wolf here is about your wild, untameable spirit, that does not allow itself to be crushed by the things of the world. This is a call to live lightly, in an immortal body - to grow the god or goddess within."

I will call on this wolf so that I am not crushed by the things of the world. Wolf was a companion to Merlin when he was in such a situation in solitude, when all he wanted to do was withdraw into the wild. And so I receive it as a worthy companion today.

Wolf also happens to be the animal that our vancouver island Gene Keys meet up group called forth as a mascot, dubbing us the Vancouver Island Seawolves. So receiving this the day before our meetup is also doubly prescient. And they are in the hills not too far from where we will meet.

GENE KEYS MEETUP, VANCOUVER ISLAND, THIS WEEKEND

The weather looks like it will be holding out for our Gene Keys meetup at Shawnigan Lake Provincial Park tomorrow, Saturday July 25th, 1 - 4 pm. Open & free to anyone working with or curious about Gene Keys.

My dog is incredibly excited to be joining for this one.

These bucks probably won't be anywhere near but they look like they would want to attend.
