A wee summertime pop in to say...

Our darling Kasper was born fast and sure on July 16th!

right as the sunflowers in our garden opened.

A season of blooming: in the soil, in our home, in our arms.

With our midsummer boy here,
I’m easing back into the work I love!

Incense crafting resumes soon in preparation for upcoming craft markets, and a brand new website will launch by the autumn equinox.

Sunroot Aromatics won’t be back to the lush market scene until this Autumn season, so I’ve been pouring my energy into new wholesale and consignment boutique opportunities. 🌸

A little Pop in To share..

I am disappointed and truly bummed to announce that I will not be attending Summer Punk Market at Wheelies tomorrow!

I was so looking forward to this Event and ahh, I'm currently swimming with the heavy feels of missing out on all the badass market & event vibes.

As some may not be aware, we are expecting a baby on July 8th, and at 37 weeks pregnant, the current heat has made it necessary for me to cancel the remaining June markets I had booked.

I am doing my best to stay positive!!.

I’m focusing on what fills me up: nurturing the garden, staying creative with incense conjuring, and preparing for the sweetest new chapter.

Thank you for the support and understanding.
There’s so much to look forward to, and I can’t wait to return with renewed energy. 🌼💫

South Shore, Nova Scotia.

Eightish years ago on a small boozy farm.

Sweet Fern in my hands.

I was struggling then, trying to find steadiness in the middle of addiction.
Harvesting Sweet Fern became one of the few moments my body could settle.

Her aroma, her warmth and the way she met me without expectation. Sweet Fern helped calm the nerves I didn’t yet have the language for.

Aromatics were part of my healing long before I understood why and I hope the medicines I conjure now offer that same steadiness to those who need support.

Each blend carries a story:
a small weaving of past and present into a hearty remedy that is aromatically beautiful.

Sweet Fern was gathered just steps from my old farm door on the South Shore of Nova Scotia.

a place that taught me how healing can move like seasons, slow and honest, wildly feral and rooted in the ground beneath your feet.

That land held my unraveling and my becoming, and this plant was part of that powerful medicine of transformation.

Sweet Fern carries a wild, resinous clarity:
a forest‑born warm grounding that steadies the breath and calls the spirit back into the body.

Lavandin (harvested around the Cowichan Valley) brings a deep softening around those sharp edges:
herbaceous, calming, opening the inner space where growth can finally take shape.

Together these botanicals call up Soft Forest.

Offering a moment of reconnection:
to your body, to your breath, to the parts of you that are still growing.

N e t t l e s are so Sacred and so Special 🌿

Every year around my birthday, our family returns to this bright little sun‑patch.
I turn 39 on Tuesday and this time I’m stepping into my third trimester with our third (and final) baby!
•
Foraging Nettles has become a joyful birthday ritual ☀️ Our children love nettle season.. racing ahead, pointing out the brightest patches, treating it like the first true sign of spring.
•
It’s where my heart feels most at home, gathering green fire with all of our littles growing right along with me.
•
And even hours later, when my hands are still tingling, it feels like a wild little blessing from the land...
•
for each of us.
