Hi!
So, I have a lot of updates for you all.

As some of you may already know, due to a lot of new changes in my life, including my upcoming move to Kincardine, to be with my fiancΓ© so we can start our little family (baby girl on the way!! πŸ’•)

I will be closing my practice in LaSalle and re-opening in Kincardine after maternity leave!

In the meantime, I have more big news.

A fellow Osteopathic manual practitioner, OSTCAN member, will be taking over my practice in LaSalle under his own business name, Osteocord.
His name is Ricardo La Rotta, some of you have already met him while he was either shadowing me or covering my 2-week vacation!!

He is doing AMAZING and he will be taking over for me September 1st.

I have thoroughly enjoyed starting my career here in LaSalle. It is bitter sweet to be leaving such an amazing clientele. I have met so many incredible people here , and it was a privilege to be your osteopath.

THANK YOU for trusting me with your health. It has truly been a privilege to help you move and feel better.

I have sent out a detailed email to all my patients about Ricardo taking over and your options when it comes to transferring information to him.

Osteopathic Care for babies πŸ‘£

Why would you bring a baby to an Osteopath?

🌿Colic or excessive crying
🌿Reflux symptoms
🌿Constipation or gas
🌿Flat head (plagiocephaly) from favoring one side
🌿Torticollis (tight neck muscles, head tilt)
🌿Sleep issues or restlessness
🌿Feeding difficulties (favouring one side, trouble latching)

How does it work?

πŸ‘£Releasing tension from birth (especially after long or assisted deliveries)
πŸ‘£Improving mobility in the body
πŸ‘£Supporting the nervous system, which can help regulate digestion, sleep, and calming
πŸ‘£Encouraging proper alignment, helping baby move and develop more evenly

Why it matters:

Birthβ€”even smooth birthsβ€”can put pressure on a baby’s head and body. In cases like:
🀰Long labor
🀰Fast delivery
🀰Use of forceps or vacuum
…there can be subtle restrictions that affect comfort and function.

What does an Osteopathic appointment look like?

So many people think treatment needs to hurt, or feel aggressive in order to β€œwork.”

But the body doesn’t heal through force β€” it heals through safety.

In osteopathy, we’re not trying to overpower the body. We’re assessing, listening, and finding the areas that are truly driving the dysfunction.
When we treat the right thing, the body responds as a whole.

Gentle doesn’t mean in-effective.

Subtle doesn’t mean insignificant.

When treatment is specific and respectful to the nervous system, the body integrates it instead of fighting it.

Over-treatment can actually stress the nervous system and create a rebound effect β€” where the body resists what was done.

The goal isn’t to β€œdo more.”
