🎉Action Canada celebrates new updates to Manitoba's s*x-ed curriculum, which features a focus on consent and age-appropriate introductions to puberty, menstruation, gender identity, and human rights.

The updates also address the overlap between s*xual health, consent, and new technologies like artificial intelligence, deepfakes, and "s*xtortion." 📱

Evidence shows that age-appropriate comprehensive s*x-ed sets young people up for healthier, safer relationships with their bodies, their health, and other people. In short, comprehensive s*x-ed makes schools safer. 🏫💓

Study finds that women who grew up hearing more s*xually objectifying messages from family were more likely to self-objectify as young adults. These women reported more difficulty saying no to unwanted s*x, communicating what they wanted, and reaching or**sm.

New research suggests that young women who received objectifying messages from their families growing up are more likely to view themselves as objects, a mindset linked to difficulties communicating s*xual desires and experiencing or**sm.

I think it’s important we name what’s happening here as this extends well beyond this awful situation. It’s a very troubling current example of a much larger problem. Change the narrative. Change how we parent our boys and girls. Teach consent. Teach accountability and emotional regulation. Teach empathy. Teach comprehensive s*x ed.

What side of this do you want to be on? The side defending things and wanting them to stay the same? Or the side of creating something better?
