This morning Gerry was in from Macula Risk talking to us about the risk of AMD progression and genetic testing for macular degeneration. Macula Risk genetic testing helps doctors identify those at high risk for AMD progression. These patients require increased surveillance and early referral to a specialist to preserve their sight. It also identifies 1 in 6 patients who have twice the risk of progression to wet AMD while on AREDS dietary supplements.
