Are you looking for a family doctor or nurse practitioner? We can help!

We are hosting two information and registration pop-up events at CF Masonville Place, in partnership with the Middlesex London Primary Care Network, to help you get connected to a local family doctor or nurse practitioner who is accepting patients:

đź“… Friday, June 26 & Saturday, June 27 (11 AM to 3 PM both days)
📍Masonville Place (Centre Court) - 1680 Richmond St, London

Our team will be there to provide step-by-step help to complete registration and answer any primary care-matching questions. All you need to bring is your OHIP card.

Having a trusted community-based primary care provider, someone who is familiar with you and your family throughout your lifetime, results in comprehensive care and better health outcomes.

Let us help you get connected to healthcare in our community. Come by our table tomorrow or Saturday, or get started right now online: https://www.ontario.ca/healthcareconnect

As the National Indigenous History Month draws to a close, we proudly highlight Kimberly Fisher, a remarkable Anishinabe-Kwe from Chippewas of the Thames First Nation. Known for her unwavering dedication and significant contributions to her community, Kimberly serves as an inspiration and advocate for equitable health services.

Kimberly, whose spirit name is Mime-Guas (Butterfly, the one that flies and is the connection between sky and the earth), belongs to the Migzi (Eagle Clan). She currently serves as the Health Director at the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation Health Centre. Her journey in health services spans over 21 years, including six years as an administrative assistant and 13 years as the Health Director. With an educational background in Health Services Management and Business Administration, and as a Certified First Nations Health Manager, Kimberly is deeply committed to bringing wholistic and culturally appropriate health services to her community.

As an active board member of the First Nations Health Managers Association, representing Ontario, Kimberly has been instrumental in various key projects. She secured provincial funding to establish a Cultural Harm Reduction Outreach Team and initiated a 24/7 mobile crisis response team that addresses physical, mental, and emotional distress for community members. Her collaborative efforts with Ontario West have led to culturally sensitive cancer screening programs for breast, colorectal, and cervical cancers. Additionally, she partnered with Elgin West to ensure the new hospice centre in St. Thomas accommodates Indigenous values and beliefs, including spaces for smudging and Indigenous artwork.

Kimberly’s passion for her work goes beyond her official role. She is deeply passionate about being an advocate for First Nations people, striving to amplify the voices of those who may feel unheard. Her ongoing efforts include collaboration with Ontario West and LHSC to bring Indigenous cuisine to hospital menus and support culinary programs at Fanshawe. Kimberly’s dedication has not only improved health services in her community but also set a benchmark for culturally respectful care.

Join us in celebrating Kimberly Fisher and her remarkable contributions this National Indigenous History Month! 🌺🦅
