One of the most common questions after a deep plane face + neck lift: “Will I be able to feel anything?”
Yes — but temporary numbness, tightness and changes in sensation are a very normal part of healing.
The areas in front of the ears (preauricular) and underneath the chin (submental) are commonly numb after surgery. As the nerves recover, sensation gradually returns — typically receding by about 3 cm per month, with most patients having sensation back around the 3-month mark.
You may also notice tingling, little “zaps,” or changing sensations along the way — often signs that those nerves are waking back up.
Healing after a deep plane face + neck lift is a process. Give your body time. 🤍
Recovery timelines can vary from patient to patient.
