Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

We acknowledge the children who never returned home from residential schools, the survivors who carry it with them still, and the families and communities living with that loss.

Our Ontario clinics operate on the traditional territories of First Nations, Inuit and Metis peoples. Naming that is a starting point, not a conclusion.

Today we encourage everyone to listen, read and learn. The National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation has resources for anyone wanting to start. The Indian Residential Schools Crisis Line is available at 1 866 925 4419.

Meet Fatemeh "Flora" Ehteshami, physiotherapist at our London clinic.

Flora brings more than six years of experience in musculoskeletal and neurological rehabilitation, with particular focus on sports injuries and shoulder and rotator cuff care. She sees patients in English, Farsi and Persian.

That old injury did not come back. It never fully left.

Every fall we see the same pattern: the shoulder from two summers ago, the low back that behaved all July, the knee that only complains in October. It is rarely random.

What changes this time of year:

Cooler temperatures mean joints and tissue take longer to warm up. Back to routine also means back to old habits, old chairs, old commutes. Less daylight means less incidental movement across the whole day.

Old injuries are not gone, they are quieter in summer because you move more and warm up faster. Take the volume away and you hear them again.

A few minutes of mobility work most days makes a real difference. So does getting assessed before it turns into six weeks of guessing.
