Your body performs best when you prepare it to move. 💪

Dynamic warm-ups help activate muscles, improve mobility, increase circulation, and prepare your joints for the demands of activity — whether that’s running, gardening, golfing, pickleball, or simply keeping up with everyday life.

Just as important? Pacing yourself.

Progressing too quickly or pushing through fatigue can overload tissues faster than they can adapt. Gradual loading and proper recovery are key to staying active and avoiding setbacks.

A few extra minutes of preparation today can help keep you doing the things you love tomorrow. 🏃‍♀️🚴‍♂️🏌️‍♀️

If you’re dealing with recurring soreness, stiffness, or injuries during activity, physiotherapy can help you build a plan that keeps you moving with confidence!

May is National Physiotherapy Month 💙

Physiotherapy is about more than recovering from injury — it’s about helping people get back to the activities that make life meaningful.

Whether that’s:
🏃 Running
🏌️ Golfing
🧘 Moving with confidence
👨‍👩‍👧 Playing with your kids
🚶 Walking without pain
💪 Returning to the gym
🌎 Travelling and living actively

Our goal is to help people move better, feel stronger, and return to the things they love most.

Movement matters — and the right guidance can make all the difference.

“Straightening up” isn’t about forcing your body into one perfect position.

After two months of trying to fix his posture, Graham Isador landed somewhere many of us in physio already know:
Posture isn’t something you hold—it’s something you *support*.

At Physiohaus, we see this every day 👇
The real game changer isn’t cues like “sit up straight” … It’s building the strength and endurance to *actually sustain* positions when your life demands it.

Because if your muscles can’t support the position, you won’t keep it—no matter how hard you try. 💪

➡️ Stronger postural muscles = less strain
➡️ Better endurance = less fatigue throughout the day
➡️ More capacity = more freedom to move, work, and live ❤️

So instead of chasing perfect posture…
we focus on making your body more resilient, adaptable, and functional.

That’s where physiotherapy—and strength training—really matters.

Most people “brace” their abs so hard they forget to breathe. 😳

You will hear the team at Physiohaus talk about core control … versus core stability because this involves your ability to control your muscles efficiently while you breathe and move.

While many people discuss a “weak core”, there is often a coordination issue with this system.

Part of training your system may simply be “ re-patterning” how you move and breathe. 😊

Connect with us if you want learn how to integrate coordinated core strategies into the activities that you love!

Clenching your jaw? Grinding your teeth? You’re not alone.

Jaw clenching and teeth grinding (often without realizing it) can overload the temporalis and other jaw muscles, leading to headaches, facial pain, TMJ irritation, and neck tension.

One of the biggest steps in treatment is **awareness**.

Try these simple tips:
• Check in during the day — are your teeth touching? They should be slightly apart at rest

• Keep your tongue resting gently on the roof of your mouth

• Relax your shoulders and let your jaw feel heavy

• Avoid chewing gum or clenching during stress

• Practice slow nasal breathing to reduce tension

At Physiohaus, we often combine manual therapy, exercise, education, and acupuncture/dry needling to help calm overactive jaw muscles.

Small changes + the right treatment plan can make a big difference.

Teamwork makes the difference 🙌

This week, we reviewed a video case study of a patient with scapular winging and significant shoulder dysfunction.

By sharing ideas and applying the latest knowledge, we build treatment plans that give our patients the best chance at strong, lasting outcomes.

Proud of the teamwork and learning culture at Physiohaus.
