The summer is fast approaching, and with nice weather comes lots of activities!

Exposure to loud noise from concerts, machinery, power tools, headphones, or everyday environments can cause permanent hearing damage over time. This hearing damage often manifests without warning signs. Wearing hearing protection helps reduce the risk of hearing loss, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), and listening fatigue, allowing you to continue enjoying conversations, music, and the sounds that matter most for years to come!

There are many forms of hearing protection:
- Foam Earplugs: Soft, disposable plugs that expand in the ear canal to block noise. Great for concerts, sleeping, and noisy workplaces.

- Reusable Earplugs: Made from silicone or rubber and can be cleaned and reused multiple times.

- Earmuffs: Cover the entire ear and provide excellent protection in very loud environments such as construction sites or using power tools.

- Noise Cancelling Earplugs: Helpful for reducing background noise during travel or work, though they are not always a substitute for certified hearing protection in hazardous noise environments.

- Custom Noise Protection: Professionally fitted to your ears for maximum comfort and protection. Ideal for musicians, industrial workers, hunters, and frequent noise exposure.

If you’re in the Byron area, consider stopping by to drop off some non-perishable food items. Nobody deserves to go hungry, and the families who use this service will thank you.

On Remembrance Day we pause to honour the individuals who bravely served and sacrificed for our freedom.

Many veterans live with hearing loss and tinnitus caused by gunfire and loud noise exposure. These invisible injuries serve as powerful echoes of their service. We reflect not only on the quiet that symbolizes remembrance, but the importance of protecting and restoring the hearing of those who have given so much. Through continued care, we strive to ensure every veterans voice and story can be heard, loud and clear.
