Wow, what a night!

I had a great time opening for the incredibly funny Zach Margs with Michael Greenblatt joining in.

Thank you to The Canadian Shaare Zedek Foundation | Non Profit for putting together such a meaningful event and supporting such a great cause.

Special thanks to Rafi Yablonsky and Mishel Haimov (& their entire team) and especially Jacqueline for the vision behind the evening and for making it so special in honour of her mother.

The night ended with a chicken peeing on Zach, but hey… that’s show business 😎

And for those asking: no, I’m not quitting my day job. Not just yet.

You probably know your height and weight but do you know the numbers that can tell you something about your heart health? 🫀📊

You don’t need to obsess over numbers but you should know what yours mean.

Your family history can tell you more about your heart health than you might realize. 🧬❤️

Having a close relative who developed cardiovascular disease at a young age can be an important clue about your own risk. Genetics can influence factors like cholesterol, Lipoprotein(a), blood pressure and other cardiovascular conditions.

You can’t change your genetics, but knowing your family history can help you and your healthcare provider identify risk factors earlier and take action when needed.

Know your history. Know your risk.

🇫🇷

Connaissez votre risque.

Another round of Myth vs. Reality. 🫀👀

There’s a lot of health information out there, and not all of it tells the full story.

Let’s put a few more common heart health beliefs to the test. How many did you get right this time? 👇

As a cardiologist and intensivist, there are certain symptoms I would never brush off. 🚨

Some symptoms may turn out to be nothing serious but others can be your body’s way of telling you something needs attention.

In this video, I share 3 things I would never ignore and why knowing when to seek medical care matters.

When it comes to your health, it’s better to take a concerning symptom seriously than assume it will simply go away.

One high blood pressure reading doesn't always mean you have hypertension. 🩺

Stress, caffeine, sodium, certain medications, smoking and poor sleep can all influence your blood pressure. Sometimes, however, consistently elevated readings are a sign of underlying hypertension.

That's why patterns matter more than a single number.

Measure your blood pressure correctly, track your readings over time and discuss consistently elevated results with your healthcare provider. ❤️

-

-

Think you know how to take your blood pressure? You might want to double-check. 👀🩺

Talking, crossing your legs, positioning your arm incorrectly or not resting beforehand can all affect your reading.

And when we’re using those numbers to make decisions about your health, accuracy matters.

Here’s what not to do the next time you check your blood pressure.

What are people Googling when something doesn’t feel right with their heart? 👀📱

I looked at some of the most commonly searched heart-related symptoms and there are a few important things Google can’t tell you.

Chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath and dizziness can have many different causes. Your search history might give you possibilities, but it can’t give you a diagnosis.

When symptoms are new, severe or concerning, Google shouldn’t be your final stop. 🫀

-

Working in the ICU changes the way you think about prevention.

By the time someone reaches intensive care, the focus is often on treating a serious or life-threatening problem. And sometimes, you hear patients wishing they had paid attention to their health sooner.

Regular check-ups, managing your risk factors, taking your medications as prescribed and not ignoring changes in your health can matter more than you realize.

Don’t wait for a health crisis to start prioritizing your health. ❤️

-
