As summer begins to soften, Traditional Chinese Medicine recognizes this unique period as Late Summer, the season of the Earth element.
Unlike the four seasons we commonly think of, TCM includes a "fifth season," a time of transition that bridges the vibrant energy of summer with the quieter pace of autumn.
The Earth element is connected to the spleen and stomach, reminding us that nourishment is about more than the food we eat. It also includes the way we rest, the thoughts we carry, and the care we give ourselves each day.
If you've been feeling more tired than usual, experiencing digestive changes, or finding yourself caught in cycles of worry or overthinking, your body may simply be asking for a little extra support during this seasonal shift.
As we move toward autumn, this is the perfect time to slow down, choose warm and nourishing meals, spend time in nature, and create moments of stillness before the busyness of a new season begins.
Nature doesn't rush from one season to the next, and neither should we.
How are you nourishing yourself as we enter Late Summer?

The August Full Moon, known as the Sturgeon Moon, is a reminder that every season brings its own harvest. 🌕
Its name comes from the giant lake sturgeon of the Great Lakes, which Indigenous Peoples traditionally harvested during this time of year. Other traditional names, including the Grain Moon, Green Corn Moon, and Fruit Moon, also reflect the abundance of late summer as crops ripen and the harvest begins.
This full moon invites us to pause before the seasons change.
✨ Celebrate the progress you've made.
✨ Express gratitude for what has come to fruition.
✨ Release what no longer supports the person you're becoming.
✨ Gather your energy as nature begins its gentle transition toward autumn.
Like the ancient sturgeon, a symbol of resilience and endurance, we are reminded that lasting growth often comes through patience, adaptability, and trusting the journey.
Take a few quiet moments under this month's full moon to reflect:
What are you grateful for, and what are you ready to leave behind?
🌕 Save this post for your full moon reflection and revisit it as you move into a new season.

TCM Tuesday: What is Qi?
If you've ever heard someone talk about "Qi" and wondered what it actually means, you're not alone.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Qi (pronounced chee) is often described as the body's vital energy. It's thought to support everything from movement and digestion to circulation, healing, and emotional well-being.
Rather than focusing only on symptoms, Traditional Chinese Medicine looks at how well Qi is flowing throughout the body. The goal is to support balance so your body can function at its best.
Whether you're new to Traditional Chinese Medicine or have been exploring it for years, understanding concepts like Qi can help you see wellness from a different perspective.
What Traditional Chinese Medicine topic would you like us to explain next?

As summer gently gives way to fall, nature reminds us of something we often forget.

There is beauty in slowing down.

The Fall Equinox is a moment of perfect balance, where day and night are nearly equal. It invites us to pause, reflect on all we've grown through, express gratitude for what has been, and gently release what no longer belongs in the season ahead.

If you've been craving a little more stillness, connection, or space to simply breathe, this evening was created for you.
Join us for our Fall Equinox Gathering as we come together for movement, meditation, reflection, seasonal ritual, and meaningful connection in a warm and welcoming space.
Leave feeling lighter, grounded, and ready to welcome autumn with intention.
Spaces are limited. Reserve yours through the link in our bio.

Meridian Spotlight: The Spleen Meridian
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Spleen Meridian plays an important role in digestion, energy production, and helping us feel grounded. It's often associated with our ability to transform nourishment into vitality—not just from the food we eat, but from how we care for ourselves each day.

When the Spleen Meridian is supported, we may experience steady energy, mental clarity, and healthy digestion. When it's struggling, some people notice fatigue, brain fog, digestive discomfort, or a tendency to overthink.

While these symptoms can have many different causes, Traditional Chinese Medicine views them as valuable signals that invite us to slow down, nourish ourselves, and restore balance.
