* 4 weeks advanced notice - Annual inflation-based rate adjustment effective January 1, 2026

For this year, we will be adjusting our service fees in alignment with our government's mandated minimum rate raise at 2.4%, which is also in close alignment with our inflation rate at 2.1%.

The rate for our services will be adjusted on January 1, 2026 as follows:

* Per minute rate from $3.6 to $3.7 tax exempted

50 minutes Individual sessions from $180 to $185 tax exempted
75 minutes couple / dyadic sessions from $270 to $277.5 tax exempted
90 minutes family / 3+ persons sessions from $324 to $333 tax exempted

These adjustments will be reflected on receipts issued starting January 1, 2026.

* 4 weeks advanced notice - Annual inflation-based rate adjustment effective January 1, 2025

The minimum wage raise mandated by the government this year is approximately 4%. For this year, we will be adjusting our service fees at a rate slightly lower than the government mandated rate at 3%.

The rate for our services will be adjusted on January 1, 2025 as follows:

* Per minute rate from $3.5 to $3.6 tax exempted

50 minutes Individual sessions from $175 to $180 tax exempted
75 minutes couple / dyadic sessions from $262.5 to $270 tax exempted
90 minutes family / 3+ persons sessions from $315 to $324 tax exempted

These adjustments will be reflected on receipts issued starting January 1, 2025.

* 4 weeks advanced notice - Annual inflation-based rate adjustment effective January 1, 2024*

Providing tax-free therapy to clients was always in our anticipation when Footprints Counselling was established. It is unfortunate that since the initial discussion, years have passed and Bill C-323 which supports exempting tax for mental health services is still in the hearing process.

It is with our sincere hope that Bill C-323 will be passed in the next hearing. Therefore, for this year, we have decided to retain the same policy to have tax included in our service charges, and the cost of tax until the Bill is passed will still be out of the therapist's pocket.

The minimum wage raise mandated by the government this year is approximately 7%. With the state of Bill C-323 lingering, unfortunately, we have to implement a raise in our rate an extra 2% on top of our usual inflation based raise.

The rate for our services will be adjusted as of January 1, 2024 as follows:

Per minute rate from $3.2 to $3.5 tax included
50 minutes Individual sessions from $160 to $175 tax included
75 minutes couple / dyadic sessions from $240 to $262.5 tax included
90 minutes family / 3+ persons sessions from $288 to $315 tax included

These adjustments will be reflected on receipts issued starting January 1, 2024.

Annual inflation-based rate adjustment effective January 1, 2023

For this year, we have decided to retain the same inflation-based rate increase as last year despite the higher inflation rate reflected on Statistics Canada's website in the last couple months.

The rate for our services will be adjusted as of January 1, 2023 as follows:

Per minute rate from $3.0 to $3.2
50 minutes Individual sessions from $150 to $160 tax included
75 minutes couple / dyadic sessions from $225 to $240 tax included
90 minutes family / 3+ persons sessions from $270 to $288 tax included

These adjustments will be reflected on receipts being issued starting January 1, 2023.

Annual inflation-based rate adjustment effective January 1, 2022 (8 weeks advanced notice)

As of January 1, 2022, in alignment with the Ontario government's interpretation of an acceptable inflation-based rate adjustment for minimum wage of 7% between January 1 2021 and January 1 2022, our rates will be adjusted as follows:

Per minute charge from $2.8 to $3.0
50 minutes Individual sessions from $140 to $150
75 minutes couple sessions from $210 to $225
90 minutes family sessions from $252 to $270

This adjustment will be reflected on any receipts issued beyond January 1, 2022.
