This is what therapy can look like when it’s not just about talking about your life but creating space to experience it differently.

Sometimes my lived experience becomes part of the room, not as a blueprint for how you should live, but as a reminder that there can be more than one way.

That’s the kind of holistic therapy I care about: where we work with your mind, your body, your relationships, your culture, your desires and the life you get to enjoy after years of hard work & survival. Learning that slowing down to enjoy, rest and have ease is safe now.

You don’t have to come to therapy knowing exactly what needs to change.

Sometimes we discover that together.

If you’re a daughter of immigrants and you’re wondering what might be possible for you beyond the life you’ve been taught to live, reach out. We'd love to work with you.

Before you start hearing and seeing "lock in the last 3 months of the year" or feel the pressure of:

New goals.
New routines.
Finish what you started.
Make these last 3 months count.

Look to nature who takes time in a beautiful way:

Some things are beginning to let go.
Some things are still blooming.
Some things are becoming quieter.

You don't have to force yourself into a new season just because the calendar says you're in one.

Maybe the invitation this month isn't to do more.
Maybe it's to notice what season you're actually in.
And move at the pace of that.

Something I hear a lot when working with daughters of immigrants:

"I feel like I'm behind"
“I feel like I should have it all figured out by now.”

And most of the time there’s guilt underneath it, too.

Guilt about taking your time.
Guilt about not doing more.
Guilt when you’re enjoying your life while your parents are still working hard.

When you know how much was sacrificed for you, it can be hard to simply be where you are.

But you are allowed to have moments where you don't have to have it all figured out.

You’re allowed to enjoy the life you worked so hard to create.

Maybe that’s generational healing, too.
If this resonates, leave a 🤍 in the comments.

This is what makes me come alive. 💖

Getting to sit with women as they make sense of their stories, break old cycles and start asking themselves what they actually want their lives to feel like.

Especially daughters of immigrants who are so used to being the responsible one, the achiever, the caretaker. Sometimes we get really good at doing what needs to be done and forget to ask what actually brings us joy.

I became a trauma therapist because I know what it’s like to do the healing, understand the patterns and still wonder, okay… now how do I actually LIVE?

That’s the part of this work I love.

Not just healing from what happened.

Making room for what makes you feel alive.

So, I’ll ask you: what makes YOU come alive?

Healing Cycles Therapy is a 2026 Canada’s Small Business 100 Nominee 💖🥹

HCT was never just about building just a successful practice, it was born from a deep longing to create the spaces I always wished existed. With a strong belief that healing doesn't have to be heavy & you don't have to heal alone! Where culture and healing live together. Where we are held in community instead of carrying everything alone. Where healing makes room for joy, nature, play, rest, and real connection.

And somewhere along the way, I realized the truth: while I was building this business, it was building me.
It has stretched, challenged, and humbled me into the woman and leader I am today.

I’m not just celebrating a nomination. I’m honoring the pivots, the uncertainty, the self-doubt, the courage to keep going, and the legacy I am building for my ancestors, daughters and my inner child 🥹

To our clients: trusting HCT with your most tender stories is an honor I will never take lightly. You are the heartbeat of why this exists. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

And let’s be real..building all of this on broken sleep and while breastfeeding has been quite the journey. 😂

Though I genuinely cannot wait to see what happens when I finally sleep through the night again. 😂😭

As daughters of immigrants, we inherit a heavy duality: the fierce drive to make our parents’ sacrifices worth it, and a deep, ancestral devotion to family.

For a long time, the guilt of trying to find a perfect balance exhausted me. I thought my ambition made me a distant mother, and my devotion made me a distracted builder.

But balance is a myth.

Our lives don’t move in clean equations, they move in rhythms and phases. There are seasons where my ambition takes the lead, and seasons where my devotion to these girls is my entire world. It is never even, and that is okay.

Our parents didn't survive so we could live in a cage of constant guilt. They survived so we could expand. I am finally building a life that doesn't force me to choose. One with massive, unapologetic space for both my fire and my presence.

“Am I getting enough rest?”

Someone pulled this card at my healing circle and said they really resonated with it. And it got me thinking about how differently we can experience rest.

Because honestly, I’m a nap queen. 😂 I take my rest very seriously.

I’ve spent a lot of my own healing journey learning that I don't have to constantly push, produce or prove myself. Rest, play and joy are actually things I value deeply.

But I know that isn't the reality for so many of the women I work with.

Especially as daughters of immigrants, we can grow up learning to work hard, keep going, be responsible and make the most of every opportunity.

So rest can feel like:
“I should be doing something.”
“I’ll rest when everything is done.”
“I don't have time.”
“I haven't done enough yet.”

And sometimes the invitation isn't to do more.

It's to ask:
Can you actually enjoy the life you're working so hard to create?
Can you rest without guilt?
Play without making it productive?
Slow down without feeling behind?

Healing doesn't have to be heavy.
And it doesn't have to be about constantly working on yourself.

Sometimes healing looks like having a life you actually enjoy being present for 💖

And yes, as a nap queen, I will always advocate for the nap. 😂

A grief-y month meant more time in nature. A reminder that when everything feels overwhelming, nature holds you. Slow down to see the beauty and be held.
