Kim Cochrane - Whole Body Health Somatic Healing

Kim Cochrane - Whole Body Health Somatic Healing Healing Early Developmental & Inherited Family Trauma with Somatic Experiencing(SE), Co-Regulating T You may want to move towards lasting change.

I'm a Integrative Relational Somatic Psychotherapist and Somatic Practitioner working with developmental trauma, anxiety, PTSD, depression, chronic pain, chronic illness, syndromal conditions, emotional and relational challenges. I help people to develop awareness of the underlying physical responses that inform their emotions and behaviour. I use Co-Regulating Touch Bodywork for Trauma, NeuroAffe

ctive Touch and Somatic Experiencing (SE) to assist in Nervous System Resilience and Regulation to help change physiology for clients who work with me. I also offer online sessions on Zoom, if that suits your needs. You may be struggling in your relationship, suffering from anxiety or depression, experiencing low self-esteem, suffering from an eating disorder or grieving a loss. You may also be in transition and facing questions of identity, meaning or purpose in your life. You may be facing familiar feelings of stuckness and 'just going through the motions of life'. You may feel angry, sad or frustrated at the patterns in your life. You could be facing a crisis but you don’t have to be. You may be suffering from the hidden effects of trauma - a loss of connection with others - and you may feel numb, without knowing exactly why. Your self-esteem and feelings of well-being may be suffering. When facing difficulties in our lives, it can be helpful to engage with someone who listens deeply, understands and helps you make sense of your experience. Clients tell me that they find me understanding, caring, and supportive. They feel connected when working with me and trust me to share the challenges they are facing – they feel accepted without being judged. There’s an unmistakable link between hidden, early developmental trauma and chronic anxiety, depression, relational struggles, illness or pain. As an integrative relational somatic therapist and whole body somatic practitioner, I work with you deeply at the level of the nervous system and body sensations to heal invisible, long-held trauma, so that your emotional and physical symptoms can heal. You don’t have to be defined by your symptoms and it is possible to feel better. Somatic Experiencing (SE), Co-Regulating Touch Bodywork for Trauma, Somatic Relational Awareness & Inquiry and Body-Mind Centering are some of the methods we will explore together. I will be both supportive and active and help you create new kinds of understanding, possibility and embodiment, so you can progress, at your pace, to rise into the fullness of who you are. Your nature is fluid - naturally at ease and free. You may have spent a long time keeping what you feel inside, not knowing what you feel or not feeling able to speak up about it. You may feel stuck, in emotional or physical pain, anxious, depressed or suffering. You don’t have to be. No matter what your history, ease and freedom is possible for you. Wholeness and joy are already in you. Our work together will support you to access what’s true inside of you. You may be struggling in your relationship, experiencing low self-esteem, struggling with an eating disorder or body image concerns, going through a divorce or grieving a loss. You may feel angry, sad or frustrated at the patterns that you’ve noticed in your life and don’t know how to get to the root of what’s happening for you and move towards lasting change. You can learn about embodiment, your nervous system and how your body is giving you messages that are helpful for you to learn how to understand. Let’s take time to slow down, notice and get in to your body. Your body holds a map of your emotional history. Allow yourself to feel and know your body in a full and deep way. Embody the fullness of your life and yourself. Feel grounded in the truth of yourself. Be with what’s here for you now. Touch in to the sensations inside of you and understand what your feelings truly mean for you. You may be judging yourself harshly and your self-esteem and feelings of well-being may be suffering. When facing difficulties in our lives, it can be helpful to engage with someone who will take part in our dance of co-regulation - someone who listens deeply, understands, helps you make sense of your experience - and will help you cultivate embodied resilience within yourself, in your relationships and in your life. To begin, we will take time for you to develop a sense of safety between us - cultivating and nurturing a caring, connected and supportive relationship, so that you can trust me to share what may be challenging you - while feeling accepted without being judged. Embodying the truth of you is possible - along with lasting change and growth.

When was the last time that you asked for what you needed and meant it? ⭐️💗

I saw this pattern in myself for many years, before I recognized it. Most of us were raised believing that other people came first and our needs weren’t as important. ⭐️💗

Self-abandonment usually begins in childhood, as a way to stay attached, connected and safe in our relationships with our parents and within our family of origin. ⭐️💗

We learn that if we stop having needs, the (potential) threat or danger goes away. We feel that we become easier to love, when we take up less space. ⭐️💗

Somewhere along the way, you lose track of what you want. Abandoning yourself recreates the disconnection from yourself that your body has been trying to avoid since childhood. ⭐️💗

During our work together, you learn to practice to become a wise, connected and attuned adult to your younger parts within. You no longer outsource your needs for caring support and you learn to give it to yourself, each and every day. ⭐️💗

Here’s to becoming a safe place for us to land deep within ourselves. ⭐️💗

We’re gathering soon inside the Being Held monthly container. ⭐️ Women are coming forward who want to lean in to receive support and rest into being and belonging within themselves and with others. ⭐️

We will spend time together sharing what is working well in our lives, where we want to receive more support and how we can move through the conditioned patterns that hold us back or keep us stuck. ⭐️

We will combine rest, inner child work, movement and receiving with uncovering your true power - we are growing ourselves up - healing, moving and shifting ourselves towards what we are hoping for in our lives. ⭐️

We will hold space for our struggles, as well as our individual triumphs and growth. ⭐️ We are building our capacity to trust ourselves and to be in community with women who are supporting each other and learning with each other. ⭐️

We are moving through being a good girl and moving towards embodying all that we truly are. ⭐️

I can’t wait to be with you next week on Tuesday, August 25th at 6:15pm to 7:15pm ET. ⭐️💗

There comes a time in every woman’s life when what has been working in her life, will no longer take her to her next evolution. ⭐️

The same actions that brought you fulfillment - no longer feel fulfilling. What used to feel supportive - feels like it’s dragging you down. ⭐️

It’s time for a reawakening - a rebirth - an evolution. ⭐️

You are restless - but you don’t make a move. ⭐️

It’s ok - it’s confusing and frustrating and it’s normal. ⭐️

Slow down - it’s time to rewire your nervous system and heal your relationships for who you are becoming. ⭐️

With you 💗⭐️

What are you tangled up in your life?

What is your tangle trying to show you or teach you?

How can you evolve from tangled to clear?

What is the pathway to your next right step?

What stage are you in?

Seed … Root … Shoot… Bloom 💐

We’re healing so we can build deep roots in the soil of our lives. ⭐️ We’re building foundations that can sustain you in your sovereign and free life. ⭐️

This work is a process of being with your emotions and sensations and reclaiming what our good girl conditioning took from us. ⭐️

We came here to be who we are - not to be who other people are comfortable with you being. ⭐️

We are going to practice being with and moving our emotions, befriending our fears, prioritizing our needs & boundaries and holding our ground when others are disappointed or anger with us. No small task. ⭐️

As each year passes, I continue to uncover how to meet and express my aliveness. I would imagine that you sometimes consider this too. ⭐️

There is a pressure of the soul to be expressed. So now what? ⭐️

What if we could live into our curiosity about what it is that our soul feels some pressure to express. ⭐️

Allow your breath to lift and dance you. Your longing is a slow motion prayer. The world is longing for you too. ⭐️

Notice the one single thread in your story, and tend the longing to begin again. ⭐️

Take yourself out on a date. ⭐️

I’m going on a date with myself this weekend to the dollar store to buy silly things like gold stick-on stars, tiny dinosaurs, sparkly sequins, glue, paints, crayons, and artist paper. ⭐️💗

Buy anything that feels fun, whimsical, not practical. 🌺 ⭐️

Have fun with it. ⭐️

Write your experience in your journal and see how it feels to focus on yourself. 🏝️

When we reach the middle of our lives, we become aware of parts of ourselves that need to be tended to. ⭐️

Most often what we are caring for are the aspects of our younger hearts that are in need of integration.⭐️

Our child self that was unseen, hurt, disappointed or abandoned, and asking us to show up and care for them in a way no one has done before.⭐️

The wounded parts of ourselves are not broken, they just need us to be with them. To feel them until they transform. To learn what happens on the other side of this important attunement to ourselves - without a plan as to what that will look like.⭐️

When we can look within, attune to ourselves and our deepest wounds and longings, we can connect with the wisdom that we have been hoping to find. ⭐️

Here’s to caring for and being kind to all parts of ourselves, and bringing what may have felt in the darkness into the light. ⭐️

When your body responses and nervous system is no longer organized around survival and the wound - everything can shift. 🌷

The universe responds differently when you are no longer approaching life from survival mode. ⭐️

Allow yourself to have the space to feel what is hidden or unknown to you. To sense a lifetime of judgement towards yourself - to soften into gentle, body- focused, spacious and deep trauma healing work. 🕶️

To transcend talking about what is troubling you, and to touch it, move it and feel it. To shift your relationship to yourself and to others. 🌺

Let’s shift your experience of life from a hidden wound and survival based existence to a more secure and desire based life. 💛

Supporting you from here. 💗

I’ve been reflecting on how we can intentionally shape the life we are living, so that it supports our well-being, values, relationships, growth and peace - rather than just reacting to outside circumstances or chasing external validation.

I want to curate all aspects of my life and live my life consciously - creating a life of balance, nourishment, truth and fulfillment across different aspects of my life.

This also involves editing life over time - choosing what stays and what goes - including the friendships, habits, work, routines and thoughts that support the person that I am becoming.

I want to create a life that feels good on the inside, not just a life that looks good on the outside.

Living in a way that deeply supports my well-being and who I truly am.

The biggest regret of the dying is wishing that they had the courage to live a life that is true to themselves, not the life that others expected of them. ❤️

What is true for you? Are you living what is true for you? with love ❤️

Being in connection with others can feel stressful at times, especially as felt inside your body. ⭐️ What does it mean for us to love each other without losing ourselves? ⭐️ How can we remain connected to others without abandoning ourselves? ⭐️ How can our bodies stay open without collapsing in to a fear response or withdrawal? ⭐️ This healing work is relational and it’s not your fault. ⭐️ You can have a new experience inside your body, and your experience of life can change. ⭐️ with love. ⭐️
