Shannon Lim is a Neuro physiotherapist who has experience working with individuals who have been diagnosed with Stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, Multi System Atrophy, Spinal Cord Injury, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Acquired Brain Injury, Vertigo (and other vestibular disorders), Bell's Palsy and more.

Cridge Pharmacy is interested in bringing community pharmacy services to Galiano and Mayne Islands.

Hi Mayne islanders!

I'm looking at opening a pharmacy on Galiano and eventually Mayne. It would be VERY helpful if you would respond to this survey so we can determine if it would be viable! Thanks in advance!

Our pharmacy would be established on Galiano (Sturdies Bay), and depending on demand, would be open 5 to 7 days a week.

We would also deliver prescriptions to homes on Mayne daily as well (5 to 7 days a week, depending on demand).

Galiano gets a pharmacy, Mayne gets prescription delivery every day.

If both islands are busy, we'd open a pharmacy on Mayne as well.

What's the advantage for Mayne residents?

-Daily home delivery (especially important for acute medications, antibiotics, forgotten prescriptions)

-Over the counter medications

-Minor ailment prescribing (UTIs, birth control, eye infections)

-No added delivery fees

-Your pharmacy would be a 5 minute boat ride, vs hours spent on the ferry

In the event of a cardiac arrest, CPR alone is often not enough to restart the heart. An AED (automated external defibrillator) analyzes the heart rhythm and, when appropriate, delivers a shock to try to restore an effective rhythm.

Early defibrillation + high-quality CPR gives someone the best chance of survival. Did you know we have 9 AED machines on Mayne? That's in addition to those carried by our ambulance service and fire department.

We’re thrilled to welcome Physiotherapist Shannon Lim back to Mayne Island on September 25–26! 🌿

Having visiting healthcare professionals come to our island makes it easier for community members to access care close to home, without needing to travel off-island.

Shannon will be offering in-person physiotherapy appointments during her visit. Many extended health plans include coverage for physiotherapy, so it may be worth checking with your provider to see if your plan covers your appointment.

Alert First Aid is returning to Mayne!

This course is for those who would like to learn life-saving emergency first aid, refresh their skills, or upgrade their occupational first-aid to align with Worksafe BC standards.

Taught by licensed professional instructors, this 4-hour hands-on course will take place at the Ag Hall on Oct 31, 2026.

Prior to your appointment with the Audiology Clinic on August 10th or August 11th, Ears to you requests that you have an ear assessment done to check for and remove any wax.

Please call the Health Centre at 250-539-2312, and ask the receptionist to book an appointment for you with Fran Wertman for your ear assessment. Fran is only in the clinic on Tuesdays so your options are: July 28th and August 4th.
