Something shifts when the session moves out of the office and amongst the trees... but a lot of therapists aren't use to working in this way.

ROOTED & ALIVE is an outdoor camp/conference/retreat and four days of exploring what healing can look like outdoors. Curated for practicing mental health professionals, our theme is Nature as Co-Therapist: Taking therapy outdoors.

Whether you're a therapist curious about taking your practice into the wild, a creative arts practitioner looking to expand your therapeutic repertoire, or simply someone drawn to being outdoors, you're welcome here.

Through dance therapy, art therapy, drama therapy and music therapy, forest bathing, somatic practice, and workshops on the land itself, we'll ask a simple question: what's possible when we invite our relationship with nature to run the session?

Most people, including therapists themselves, think therapy happens in a room with four beige-painted walls, a closed door, and a ticking clock.
BUT... what happens when we step outside?

ROOTED is four days of exactly that. Dance, art, drama and music therapy. Forest bathing, somatic practice, and workshops on the land itself. We ask one simple question: what's possible when we invite our relationship with nature to run the session?

I am in AWE of our profession right now.

In utter disbelief at what happens when a group of people just say YES.
At the end of May, my colleague Jessica and I had an idea: a weekend creative arts therapies skill share and gathering, outdoors, just us and this work we love. It took until July to even land on a date.

Then we sent one call out to the community.

One month later — look. what. happened.

This program is rich — full of different voices, different practices, and more than anything, a deep, unmistakable love for what we do. And right now, with everything happening in the world, coming together like this — to celebrate each other and just how good this work is — feels essential.
