🎉🤠 What an unforgettable Stampede Week at Masterpiece Retirement! 🤠🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Stampede celebrations such a success!

A special shoutout to all of our amazing chili chefs who volunteered their time and talents for our annual Chili Cook-Off. Congratulations to our winners:

🥇 1st Place: Fire in a Bowl – Matt
🥈 2nd Place: Chili Con Karma-Kieran
🥉 3rd Place: Buck’n Good Chili – Anita

We’d also like to recognize our fantastic runners-up: Ariel, Ryan, Tayler, and our SL4 and LTC residents. Thank you for sharing your delicious creations and making the competition so much fun!

A heartfelt thank you to Neal from The Buckle Band for providing wonderful entertainment during our Chili Cook-Off and keeping the Stampede spirit alive.

On Thursday, some of our adventurous residents and family members braved the summer heat alongside Michelle, Gregg, and our special guest Steven Pudwell as we live-streamed the Stampede Parade back to Masterpiece so everyone could enjoy the excitement together.

We wrapped up an incredible week with our Stampede Happy Hour and Finale, featuring a delicious meal prepared by our amazing kitchen team and fantastic live entertainment by Mel.

From pancakes and carnival fun to chili, music, the parade, and great company, it was a week filled with laughter, friendship, and unforgettable memories.

Thank you to everyone—residents, families, volunteers, staff, entertainers, and supporters—for making Stampede Week 2026 one to remember. Until next year… Yeehaw! 🤠❤️

🤠 Yeehaw! The stage is set for a fun-filled week of Masterpiece Stampede festivities! 🌵

Yesterday we kick started the week with the pancake breakfast, and today we kicked things off with our Stampede Carnival. What an incredible afternoon! There were smiles, laughter, friendly competition, and plenty of Stampede spirit shared by everyone.

The fun isn’t over yet—we’re looking forward to an exciting week ahead filled with great entertainment, delicious food, and wonderful memories with our residents, families, and staff. Up next the chili cook off!

Congratulations to our wonderful volunteers Abi and Peyton on your graduation! 🎓

We are incredibly proud of both of you and all that you have accomplished. Through the work experience partnership between McCoy and Masterpiece, you each contributed countless volunteer hours over the past year demonstrating dedication and kindness bringing lots of joy to our residents. Masterpiece resident, Phil Lyons, can add canoe restoration to his more than 60 years of wood working to his resume. Gregg Campbell, Pure Energy manager at Masterpiece, came to Phil with an idea to restore a weathered 75-year-old wood canvas flat-back chestnut canoe. Masterpiece owner, Tim Garforth-Bles gave the green light to use the Masterpiece Retirement home resident wood-shop and after 180 hours, the canoe looks great and ready to go down the river. Gregg and Phil plan to do the inaugural launch in mid-June with many of the residents watching anxiously to see if it floats.

What an exciting week it has been! 🐣💛

Over the past several days, we’ve had the joy of watching new life begin right before our eyes. So far, we’ve welcomed 28 adorable baby chicks, and we are eagerly waiting for our duck eggs to hatch in the next week!

This has been such a special experience for our residents, staff, and families—full of smiles, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

A heartfelt thank you to Joyce and Dunmore Equestrian and the hockey scouts of Canada for making this incredible opportunity possible for our seniors in Medicine Hat. Your kindness and support have truly brought so much joy to our community!
