I’m so excited to be a part of the upcoming Dunmore Equestrian event! 🤍

One of my favourite parts of owning a small business is having opportunities like this to connect with and give back to the equine community that has supported me along the way.

Horse people are some of the most passionate and dedicated people I know, and I love seeing everyone come together to celebrate our horses and the sport we love.

here’s a look at how the rest of April is shaping up

as we move into spring and more horses come back into work, this is one of the most beneficial times to get ahead of any restrictions, compensation patterns, or areas of discomfort

Before & After – DJ 🤍

DJ is a colony horse used almost daily for cattle work.

Slide one is a plain comparison so you can notice what you notice.
Slide two highlights key landmarks so I can explain what changed in just one session!

Black Lines – Support & Load Distribution

Before, he was camped under and bracing through the front end. His stance was narrow, constantly shifting left to right to stay upright (compensation).

After treatment, his limbs are more vertical and under him. He’s standing square, grounded, and comfortable.

He’s now distributing load properly through his whole skeleton.

Circle 1 – Hind End

The subtle “shelf” at the top of the glute indicates the superficial glute compensating for the medial glute, the primary muscle meant to drive proper hind-end engagement during movement.

After, that angle softens. The pelvis looks more integrated and less braced, allowing the hind end to engage properly and reducing front-end compensation.

Circle 2 – Breathing

Before, he is held in expiration and the rib cage is restricted.

After, the rib cage is fuller and more dynamic, indicating improved diaphragm function and a more complete breath cycle.

When breathing improves, it affects far more than air exchange. Detoxification, autonomic nervous system balance, organ function, and systemic regulation all improve! (and so much more!)

Circle 3 – Shoulder

Initially, there was tension through the cranial shoulder, showing front-end bracing.

After treatment, the angle is more natural. He’s no longer rocked forward, he’s using his whole body.

Less bracing = better vagal tone and improved nervous system regulation.

Circle 4 – Nervous System

Before: alert eye, forward ears, elevated head = sympathetic state.

After: softer eye, neutral ears, lowered head = parasympathetic engagement.

This isn’t sedation.
This is regulation.

There are additional subtle changes I didn’t circle to keep the image clean, but they’re there!

The body doesn’t change in parts.
It reorganizes as a system.
