Meet our nominee, Janice Kirchner!
Janice Kirchner is the Co-Owner of Safety Connections, a thriving business with a distinguished 25-year history in training and development within the oil and gas, light equipment operation, and commercial driving industries. Since taking over all aspects of the business two years ago, Janice has successfully navigated the complexities of ownership and management, all while fostering a culture rooted in teamwork and empowerment. Her adeptness in writing government proposals has resulted in substantial funding, including a recent $1.7 million contract dedicated to providing vital training opportunities for Albertans seeking their Class 1 licence.
Janice is renowned for her commitment to mentorship and community engagement. Training Instructors for the Canadian Red Cross and participating on several boards, including the Medicine Hat Construction Association and the Alberta Construction Safety Association, she leverages her expertise to support and uplift others. Through her teaching initiatives, such as the Home Alone Course and the Babysitter Course, she also positively influences the next generation, instilling confidence and skill in youth across her community.
