The SIGNIFICANCE of 16 [PART 1]

The greatest man I will EVER know is my dad, Ralph Schnieder. He excelled at everything he did, not only because of his natural talent but because he never squandered it. He was driven. A student of everything and a teacher for those willing to listen. He had a quiet confidence, a kind Soul and love that made you feel at ease and always welcome in his presence.

He was a good man.

He treated everyone fairly and it was never about win-loss but win-win. He gave everything he had, until his time came to pass. He never complained. He just did. He would sacrifice himself for those he loved.

He taught me everything I needed to know, for this, I will always carry him in my Heart, my Thoughts and my Soul.

I am the Man I am today because of my father.

He loved his Harley motorcycles and the freedom of the ride. He had a wild side (right Steph 😉) but Family ALWAYS came first.

We never got to do a traditional ride to Sturgis together.
But...
On August 3rd, 2024, I rode with my dad (his ashes) to Sturgis.

I spent the 4 days riding through the Black Hills searching for the perfect place to rest.

Nothing felt right until...

PART 2

The Iron Mountain Road.

The twists and turns, tight switchbacks and beautiful views.

It was perfect.

I could feel my dad riding, laughing and smiling with me.

As the trees cleared his place to stay appeared.

But I had to turn around to get to the other side. There were so many riders on that road, I had no idea how I was going to make it happen.

I found a side turn out.

There was no one coming from either direction.

I was able to get to the final stop of this journey.

The view was breathtaking.

I placed my dad's ashes in their final resting place.

I felt the Peace and Graditude of my Life with him.

When it was time to go, I needed to get turned around on the road again.

And like before, not a vehicle or motorcycle in sight.

Thanks dad!

The significance of 16...
The Iron Mountain Road is also known as Hwy 16A.
My dad always wore the number 16 in sports he played.
This is why I wear the #16 on my ring.

Love you Dad.
Miss you every day.
But I know you are always right here with me.
