Food sensitivity tests are one of the most overhyped tests in the wellness space right now — and I stopped running them with clients a long time ago.

Here’s the thing: food sensitivities are usually a symptom, not the root cause. If your gut lining is compromised, your immune system is going to react to foods it normally wouldn’t. Eliminating those foods doesn’t fix the leak — it just removes the trigger temporarily.

What I run instead? OAT (Organic Acids Test) and HTMA (Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis).

OAT gives me a deep look at what’s actually happening inside your cells — mitochondrial function, nutrient deficiencies, yeast and bacterial overgrowth, neurotransmitter metabolism. It tells me why your gut is struggling in the first place.

HTMA shows me your mineral status and heavy metal burden over the past 3 months. Minerals run literally every function in your body — digestion included. If your zinc is tanked, your magnesium is depleted, or you’re carrying a heavy metal load, your gut doesn’t stand a chance.

This doesn’t mean I don’t love supplements but so many people are relying on supplements to do all the heavy lifting when they’re still restricting then over indulging, staying up late scrolling, relying on caffeine to get them through the day, coming home to a glass of wine, using Teflon pans, etc.
