Iâve been thinking a lot lately about how much Nurturing Roots has changed since I first started it.
It really did start with just me and my therapy practice. But even then, I knew I didnât want it to stay that way. I had this little vision of creating a space where different practitioners could work alongside each other, bring their own strengths and perspectives, and support people in different ways.
I donât think I fully knew what that would look like at the time. And honestly, Iâm still figuring it out.
Thereâs something really special about building something you care deeply about, but thereâs also the very real side of trying to build it while being a mom, a partner, a business owner, and just a human being with a life outside of work.
Some days I feel really proud of what weâre creating. Other days Iâm answering emails with a toddler asking me for a snack, wondering how Iâm going to get everything done.
There have been lots of little pivots, ideas that didnât quite work, unexpected changes, and plenty of moments where Iâve had to remind myself that it doesnât all have to happen at once.
But when I step back and look at what Nurturing Roots has become, I feel really grateful.
Grateful for the practitioners who have joined me.
Grateful for the people who trust us with pieces of their stories.
And grateful that something that started as a little idea has slowly become something much bigger than I imagined.
I think thatâs probably what I love most about it.
Itâs growing.
And Iâm growing alongside it.
So this is a little peek behind Nurturing Roots. Not just what we do, but a little bit of the heart behind why it exists đ¤
