BridgePoint Center for Eating Disorder Recovery

BridgePoint Center for Eating Disorder Recovery BridgePoint provides free program options that include intensive discovery, recovery and healing for The program is holistic in approach.

The perspective at BridgePoint is that eating disorders are coping mechanisms that also present a very serious health risk. They replace healthy ways of dealing with issues related to stressful and traumatic life experience and personal conflicts. Persons with eating disorders often disassociate from their feelings and consequently do not have a clear sense of self. In the recovery process, the pe

rson with an eating disorder develops an understanding of the issues underlying the eating disorder and how the eating disorder is related to unexpressed feelings and personal pain. The transition to better ways of coping with life stresses and healthier living is normally a lengthy and highly individualized process that requires continual self-discovery. The role of BridgePoint is to support self-discovery, as well as skill building, in the transition from letting go of old, unhealthy life patterns to discovering a variety of new and healthy choices in how to respond to the challenges of life. This support is provided in a program with three sequential modules that symbolize the process of building a bridge to recovery.

📣 Good news! 📣 We've got even more options for one-on-one virtual sessions at BridgePoint!

Alicia has been with us since January, but she has just opened up space in her schedule for online bookings!

As a Registered Dietitian and Registered Nurse, Alicia supports individuals at all stages of eating disorder recovery. She uses a non-diet approach, blending health education and supportive counselling in each session. She collaborates with participants to navigate various health concerns and other barriers while working toward a more liberated relationship with food.

Alicia is also happy to have people book sessions to discuss BridgePoint programming and wider health system navigation for you or your loved one.

When Alicia is not at work she enjoys gardening and hanging out with her cat, Ginny. 😻

You can book a session with Alicia here: https://bridgepoint.janeapp.com/ #/staff_member/13

🤩 BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND! 🤩

Registration is open for Reclaiming Your Body Story - a one-day virtual workshop. This workshop is available to BridgePoint alumni, and will take place on Friday, October 2nd from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

What is the story you tell about your body, and what is the story you want to tell? This workshop is a chance to reclaim your narrative and move forward in healing your relationship with your body.

Your body has been your constant companion, bearing witness to every moment of your life. Every breath drawn, every heartbeat felt, your body has been there.

It has bent and reshaped itself under the pressure of an oppressive culture - one that distorts worth into narrow, unreachable ideals. Still, through it all, your body has remained. It has held on, even when you let go.

This body, your body, is not just flesh and bone. It’s your living autobiography. The story of what it has meant to live in your skin, in this world. And understanding how that story unfolded - how trust was lost - is where the work begins.

Join us for this workshop where we allow space to consider your body story, offer some new perspectives to widen the lens of your body story, and invite you to reclaim and rewrite your narrative.

When: Friday, October 2 from 9:00am - 4:00pm

Who Can Attend: BridgePoint alumni (age 18+)

Where: The comfort of your own home (online)

💫 NEW this Fall: Virtual ARFID Support Group 💫

We're running an ARFID Support Group pilot program this Fall!

Our virtual ARFID Support Group will include a blend of facilitator-led topics and open peer discussion. We'll do some brainstorming on how to be more supported, and there will be space to just talk and be heard by others who understand. This group is built on the foundation that YOU are not the problem.

❌No single definition of "recovery" or healing will be used in this group.
❌Ideas about "normal eating" will not be upheld.

Topics may include the following, but we'll be taking ideas and feedback as we go from participants in the group:
✨How to make accommodations for sensory sensitivities
✨How to navigate fear of aversive consequences (choking, vomiting, allergic reactions)
✨Low appetite & meeting nutritional needs
✨Anxiety around food, mealtimes, and social eating
✨Navigating treatment, healthcare & self-advocacy
✨Talking with family/friends about ARFID
✨Building safe foods
✨ARFID's intersections with chronic illness, GI conditions, etc.

This is an open group, attend one session or attend them all, whatever works for you.

More details:
👉Who: SK residents age 18+ experiencing ARFID, whether diagnosed or not
👉When: The last Thursday of the month from 12:00pm-1:30pm (Sept 24, Oct 29, Nov 26)
👉Where: The comfort of your own home or office (online)

🎬COMING SOON: RecoverED—The Series

More stories. More voices. More reasons for hope.

The original RecoverED documentary has now received more than 10,000 views—and there are still so many stories to tell.

BridgePoint is exploring a new series of short films featuring diverse voices and experiences of eating disorder recovery. We want to show young people that eating disorders do not have one “look,” recovery is not always linear, and no one needs to wait until things feel severe to ask for help.

We’re inviting expressions of interest from:
🔸People with lived or living experience of recovery
🔸Caregivers and family members
🔸People of different ages, identities, backgrounds and communities
🔸Adults who want to share what they wish they had known when they were younger

Every story will be approached with care, informed consent, and respect for each person’s privacy, well-being and boundaries. Expressing interest does not commit you to participating.

Your story could help someone feel seen, start a conversation or believe that recovery is possible.

📅 Initial expressions of interest are due September 7, 2026.

Additional submissions may be considered on a rolling basis, depending on available funding.
