In our last menopause support chat, we chatted about protein and how important it is for all women, but especially for those in peri/menopause. We all added our go to snacks, meals etc.
Menopausal women need more protein to counteract declining estrogen, which naturally accelerates the loss of muscle mass, bone density, and metabolic rate. Increased protein helps maintain muscle, manage weight, and protect bone health (Mayo clinic)
This is my breakfast. Starting off with Brust protein coffee shake 20g, with Neilson protein milk added with ice 18g and a Pure Protein strawberry shortcake bar 20g.
