Are you meat chicken curious?

You been humming and hawing about raising and processing your own meat chickens but you are not quite sure how to go about it.

Well, if that is you, or someone you know, this is the workshop for you!

Saturday, Sept 12 from 1030-12 PM we are offering a hands-on meat chicken workshop here at the farm.

We will be going over everything:
- ordering your meat birds
- day old/3-week brooder setups
- feeding and watering
- indoor and outdoor setups
- hands-on chicken processing tutorial (kill, scald, plucking, gut, & heat seal for the freezer)
- parting out your chicken

Bonus: those who attend the workshop can then rent the processing gear (scalder, plucker, cones) next year.

Buckle up, folks, because this is our biggest haunt to date!

The people have spoken and we finally added two medium level scare options for this October’s haunt.

The medium scare is the same 900m trail with the 12 themes but the big difference is there are ABSOLUTELY NO JUMP SCARES.

- No chainsaw wielding maniacs running at you.
- No scarecrows popping out of the corn.
- No clowns with knives chasing you down.

Nothing jumpy. Nothing sudden.

Each theme will have actors floating around to keep you on your toes but they will keep their distance and you will see them easily.

The medium scare is ideal for those who want to experience more than the low-level scare (which is just walking the trail in the daytime with no actors) but not quite ready for the high level one with all the jump scares.

We’re getting excited, folks.

We’ve had quite a few amazing moments at the haunt over the years, but this one may take the cake.

We still laugh about this one.

A group of 10 or so twenty-something year-old males screaming their heads off like children.

They were legit terrified!

Come October this field and patch of forrest morphs into one of Atlantic Canada’s premiere haunted attractions. 😱

Just under 1 km in length with 13 different themes, 50+ trained actors, loads of animatronics and props, lights, fog machines, a claustrophobic tunnel, school bus and a shipping container, this is an absolute must-experience haunt for the Halloween junkies out there.

We’re getting excited! 😁

What I think makes me unique as a therapist is my office is 30 acres of field and forest.

Seriously.

95% of my sessions are outside on the property.

Either working with the therapy animals or out on the trails for a walk ‘n talk.

But when the weather is extremely hot, overly buggy or blisteringly cold, we do have a nice cozy office to go into to chat.

I still have to pinch myself that I get to do this for a living.

Being able to marry my love for farming, animals and nature with my profession as a counselling therapist is truly a dream come true.

There are hard days and hard stories, for sure, but the positive outweighs the negative 10-1.

I am forever grateful.
