This picture brings together so many of the things I love: photography 📸, crystals 💎, hearts 💕, beautiful flowers 🌸, peaceful beaches 🌊, travelling whenever I can ✈️, and—of course—my cats! 🐈🐾 I love cats of every kind, but ginger cats hold an especially tender place in my heart. 🧡

I’m drawn to beautiful scenery 🌅 and unexpected moments in nature 🌿—the little surprises that make me pause, notice, and appreciate what is around me. I also love finding meaning in almost everything around me ✨. I’m naturally curious about the small moments, symbols, connections, and experiences that seem to speak to us when we take the time to notice them. 🔮

The picture also reflects my Acadian roots, my many years in social work, and my passion for supporting others 🤝. Energy work holds a particularly special place in my heart because, when I share it, I feel that it gives back to me just as much as I give to others. It brings connection, balance, healing, and a beautiful exchange of energy. 🌟💫

These are just a few of the things that bring me joy and make me who I am. 💛🌈

💜 International Overdose Awareness Day 2026 💜
“25 Years On. Still Needed.”

Today, August 31, Canadians join communities around the world in remembering those whose lives have been lost to overdose and toxic drugs.

Behind every statistic is a person—someone’s child, parent, sibling, partner, relative, friend, or community member. Their lives mattered, and they deserve to be remembered with dignity and compassion.

This day also recognizes the grief carried by families, friends, first responders, service providers, and communities. It reminds us that substance use is a health and social issue—not a moral failing—and that stigma can prevent people from reaching out for help.

In Canada, we can all help save lives:

💜 Carry naloxone and learn how to use it.
💜 Learn to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose.
💜 If you suspect an overdose, call 911, give naloxone if available, and stay until help arrives.
💜 Remember that Canada’s Good Samaritan Drug Overdose Act provides some legal protection from simple drug-possession charges for people who seek emergency assistance.
💜 Use respectful, person-centred language.
💜 Support harm reduction, treatment, recovery, and compassionate care.

Naloxone kits are available at most Canadian pharmacies without a prescription. In New Brunswick, ask your local pharmacy or harm-reduction organization about obtaining a take-home kit.

Today, we remember those we have lost, support those who are grieving, and stand beside those living with substance-use challenges or working toward recovery.

Every life has value. Every loss matters. Compassion saves lives.

🌿 Managing anxiety doesn’t always mean it disappears completely.
Sometimes, doing better looks quieter than we expected.
It may look like noticing your triggers sooner.
Pausing before reacting.
Breathing through a moment that once would have overwhelmed you.
Setting a boundary without feeling the need to over-explain.
Choosing rest instead of pushing through.
Speaking to yourself with more compassion instead of criticism.
Healing can show up in small ways before it feels like a big change.
You may still have anxious moments, but you begin to recognize them differently. You start to understand what your body is telling you. You reach for healthier coping tools. You become more present in your day instead of feeling completely taken over by fear, worry, or overwhelm.
That is progress.
That is growth.
That is you learning to support yourself in a different way. 🤍
Anxiety may still visit, but it no longer has to lead every part of your life. 🌸
