A “stubbed toe” isn’t always just a stubbed toe.

Most of the time, hitting your toe is painful but settles down on its own.

But sometimes, especially if the pain is significant, walking becomes difficult, or the person has risk factors like osteoporosis, it’s worth getting it checked.

Recently, we saw someone after a toe injury that seemed simple at first. But based on the history, pain level, and difficulty walking, it was clear this needed further investigation.

They were referred for an X-ray, and it turned out there was a fracture.

Once we had that information, the plan changed.

The goal became protecting the area, reducing stress on the injured toe, helping them walk more comfortably, and preventing the rest of the body from compensating too much.

That last part matters.

When someone starts limping because of foot pain, it can quickly create problems in the knee, hip, back, or the other leg — especially if they already have other aches and pains.

This is one of the parts of physiotherapy people don’t always see.

It’s not just exercises.

It’s knowing when something needs further investigation.

It’s helping people move safely while they heal.

And it’s making sure a small injury doesn’t turn into a bigger problem.

If you’ve had a foot, toe, or ankle injury that isn’t settling the way you expected, don’t just wait and hope it goes away.

We can help you figure out what the next best step should be.

Balance issues aren’t always “just aging” — and they’re definitely not something you should ignore.

At MUV Therapy, our MiniBEST Assessment helps us measure how your balance system is really performing by identifying issues with stability, coordination, stepping reactions, and fall risk.

From there, we build a personalized 8-week Walk With Confidence Program designed around YOUR specific weaknesses — so you can feel safer, stronger, and more confident in everyday life.

If you or someone you care about has been feeling unsteady, dizzy, or less confident walking, send us a DM with “CONFIDENCE” or call our clinic to learn more.

If walking doesn’t feel the way it used to… read this.

Today is World Vertigo Day 🌍

And if you’ve ever felt:
• Dizzy
• Off balance
• Or unsure on your feet

You know how much it can affect your confidence.

What most people don’t realize is this:

👉 Balance and dizziness issues are often treatable
👉 And with the right approach, they can actually improve

At MUV Therapy, we’ve been helping people in our community feel more steady, confident, and comfortable walking again.

That’s why we created the Walk With Confidence Program.

It’s a structured, step-by-step plan to:
• Figure out what’s causing your symptoms
• Improve your balance
• Help you feel confident walking in your day-to-day life again

And if your symptoms are more related to vertigo or dizziness, we’ll guide you toward the right care—including vestibular physiotherapy when needed.

If you’ve been:
• Avoiding walks
• Feeling unsure on your feet
• Wondering if this will get worse

This might be the right time to take the first step.

📞 Call the clinic at 365-655-8225 to book your balance assessment and find out what’s actually going on.

The work you don’t always see…

Menaga spent the day in Ottawa at the recent Annual Canadian Dizziness Symposium, continuing to refine her skills in vestibular rehabilitation.

Because when someone walks into our clinic feeling dizzy, off-balance, or unsure, they deserve someone who truly understands what’s going on.

We’re proud of the care she puts into her craft and grateful to have her at MUV. Way to go Menaga!

Back pain is one of the most common reasons people come to physiotherapy — and also one of the most misunderstood.

We just published a guide explaining how we approach back pain using the McKenzie (MDT) Method, why understanding movement patterns matters, and how physio can actually help you become less dependent on treatment over time.

If you’ve ever felt unsure about why your back pain keeps coming back, this might help clarify things.

Looking for back pain physiotherapy in Mississauga? Learn how the McKenzie (MDT) Method identifies pain patterns, guides treatment, and builds long-term confidence.
