Dr. Yehia Al-Hashmi, ND Integrative Naturopathic Doctor with a passion for empowering patients to achieve optimal health. Hello! My name is Dr. Yehia Al-Hashmi, ND.

I am a licensed Naturopathic Doctor in Ontario, using evidence-based complementary medicine to assist you in achieving the best version of yourself. Growing up in different parts of the world (Dubai and Mississauga) and having work experience in both conventional and alternative medicine, enabled me to build a philosophy through which I can provide integrative care focused on the natural foundations of health, made accessible to people from a variety of cultural and societal backgrounds. It would be a great pleasure to share this philosophy with you and become the co-instigator of change in your health journey. Beyond Naturopathic Medicine, my experiences include an Honors in Biochemistry from York University with research on gene editing in zebrafish, working as a pharmacy assistant, and working as a chiropractic assistant.

Progress is progress. 💪

One of my patients apologized because they had "only lost 2 lbs".

But that's exactly what we celebrated.

Sustainable weight loss is about building habits you can actually maintain. Two pounds lost is still two pounds closer to better health, and those small wins add up over time.

What may feel like "only" 2 lbs today could be the start of a completely different future.

Stay tuned for my weight loss video 🗓️

This condition is called cholinergic urticaria. When the body temperature rises from heat, exercise, emotional stress, spicy foods, or even a hot shower, the immune system can overreact. It releases histamine, which causes small, itchy hives, redness, and sometimes a burning or stinging sensation within minutes.

While there isn't a single cure, there are often ways to reduce the frequency and severity of flare-ups. In naturopathic medicine, we look at the whole picture, including:
• Supporting gut health and the gut-immune connection
• Identifying and correcting nutrient deficiencies or poor nutrient absorption
• Reducing chronic inflammation through diet and lifestyle
• Improving stress resilience and nervous system regulation
• Identifying individual triggers and creating practical strategies to avoid or better tolerate them

Did you know this about Testosterone?

Most of your testosterone is produced while you sleep, especially during deep sleep. Short or poor quality sleep can significantly lower testosterone levels.

Cognitive shuffling is a mental technique designed to help the brain settle at night by gently distracting it with calm, random thoughts instead of worries. As we fall asleep, the brain naturally shifts into a more scattered, unstructured thinking pattern. Cognitive shuffling mimics this process to ease the transition from wakefulness to rest.

Developed by Dr. Luc Beaudoin, this technique is based on research observing how thoughts become more random just before sleep. Emerging research suggests that redirecting thoughts rather than trying to stop them may help reduce mental overactivation at night.

Men are great at showing up for work, family, and responsibility, but we often forget to show up for our own health.

Health is wealth, and taking care of it early can change everything.
