November is getting closer, and the excitement for The Turning is building!

Canadaโ€™s first national conference at the intersection of the Black Church and mental health is bringing together voices that will challenge us, inspire us, and create space for the conversations our communities need.

As we count down to ๐๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ฆ๐›๐ž๐ซ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”, weโ€™re shining a spotlight on the powerful voices who will help shape this important conversation.

Meet ๐€๐ง๐๐ซ๐ž๐š ๐๐จ๐ฐ๐ž๐ฒ๐š, a registered psychotherapist, trauma healing specialist, relationship expert, author, and international speaker.

For more than 20 years, Andrea has walked alongside individuals, couples, families, and communities as they navigate trauma, relationships, faith, and the journey toward healing.

Her work is rooted in something powerful: ๐œ๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฌ๐ฉ๐š๐œ๐ž๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ž ๐ฉ๐ž๐จ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ž ๐œ๐š๐ง ๐ก๐ž๐š๐ฅ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐๐ ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ.

We have officially launched, and we are ready to collaborate.

Black Mental Health Canada has the ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ, ๐ž๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐œ๐š๐ฉ๐š๐œ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ to support Black men who are returning to the community after incarceration and navigating probation or parole.

Our goal is simple. We want to work alongside probation officers, parole officers, community partners, and families to help reduce recidivism and support successful reintegration.

We help men rebuild stability, strengthen relationships, and move forward with purpose.

When we work together, we can create stronger pathways back into the community and better outcomes for the men and families we serve.

Together, we'll listen, learn, and grow as we move from silence and stigma toward understanding, support, and lasting change.

Throughout the day, you'll hear keynote speakers, engage in thought-provoking panels, participate in breakout sessions, and be part of meaningful conversations about trauma, youth mental health, grief, medication stigma, pastoral care, church-based mental health ministries, and more.

This conference honors the Church's legacy while helping shape its futureโ€”one where faith and clinical care work together and healing is embraced without shame.
