Fatigue. Brain fog. Digestive issues. Pain. Mood changes.

These are symptoms. Not the whole story.

Naturopathic Doctors are trained to look below the surface, to understand what’s causing those symptoms and address the root cause, rather than managing symptoms forever.

Because healthcare shouldn’t only start once you’re in a hospital bed. It should also be about prevention and care that helps you live well, not just live.

Ontario’s health leaders keep saying the system needs more of this kind of care. Naturopathic Doctors are already trained and ready to provide it.

Why are we willing to invest in everything… except our health?

We’ll think nothing of spending money on a new phone, a vacation, clothes, dining out, or things that make life more comfortable.
But when it comes to our health, we suddenly start asking:
“Is it really worth it?”
“Can I afford this?”
“Maybe I’ll deal with it later.”
The truth is, your health is one of the most important investments you’ll ever make.
You only get one body. One mind. One life.
Investing in your health today can mean having more energy, more confidence, more freedom, and more years to enjoy the things—and people—you love.
And no, investing in your health doesn’t mean spending recklessly. It means recognizing that prevention, proper care, nutrition, movement, rest, and support are not luxuries.
They are priorities.
Sometimes we fear spending money on our health because the return isn’t immediate.
But ask yourself:

What could it cost me if I don’t?
Your health isn’t an expense.
It’s an investment in the life you want to live.

One of the earliest hormonal changes in perimenopause is a decline in progesterone.

Progesterone is produced after ovulation, and as ovulation becomes less regular during the perimenopausal years, progesterone levels begin to fluctuate and gradually decline. This can happen years before your periods stop completely.

Low progesterone may contribute to:

🌙 Poor sleep
😣 Increased anxiety or irritability
💥 More intense PMS symptoms
🩸 Heavier or irregular periods
❤️ Breast tenderness
🧠 Brain fog
😴 Fatigue

Many women are told their symptoms are "normal aging," but hormonal changes can have a significant impact on how you feel day to day.

Understanding what's happening with your hormones is the first step toward finding solutions that can help support better sleep, mood, energy, and overall well-being during this transition.

Perimenopause is not just about hot flashes—it's a time of significant hormonal change, and you deserve support through it.

Being accountable to your exercise routine isn’t about perfection — it’s about consistency. Every workout, every walk, every time you choose movement over excuses, you are investing in your future self.

The habits you build today will determine how strong, mobile, energetic, and independent you feel as you age. Your aging self will thank you for the muscles you maintained, the joints you protected, the energy you preserved, and the discipline you created.

Some days motivation will be there. Some days it won’t. That’s where accountability matters most. Show up anyway. Even small steps forward add up over time.

Exercise is not just about changing how you look today — it’s about protecting your health, your strength, and your quality of life for years to come.

Be accountable now because your future self is depending on you. 💪

Naturopathic Medicine Week 2026

25 years later… and I still love what I do 💚

Naturopathic Medicine Week is a beautiful reminder of why I started this journey in the first place—to help people feel heard, supported, and empowered in their health.

A quarter of a century later, that passion hasn’t faded. If anything, it’s grown stronger. Every patient story, every breakthrough, every step toward better health continues to inspire me daily.

I’m so grateful to be able to support my patients through all stages of life—especially in women’s health, digestive health, and fatigue—helping them get to the root of what’s going on and feel like themselves again.

Here’s to 25 years of purpose, and many more to come.🥂🍾
Cheers,

Celebrating Naturopathic Medicine Week May 3 - 9 2026 🎆

For 25 years, I’ve had the privilege of practicing as a Naturopathic Doctor, supporting patients in finding balance, restoring health, and truly understanding their bodies. It’s work that continues to inspire me every single day.

My focus has been on women’s health, gastrointestinal concerns, and fatigue—areas that are deeply interconnected and so often overlooked or dismissed. Helping patients navigate hormonal changes, digestive issues, and persistent fatigue is both meaningful and incredibly rewarding.

Naturopathic medicine is about getting to the root, not just managing symptoms. It’s about individualized care, education, and empowering you to take an active role in your health.

I am grateful for the trust my patients place in me and proud to be part of a profession that prioritizes whole-person care.

✅ booking the appointment you’ve been putting off
✅moving your body, even in small ways

Whether that’s through lifestyle changes, professional support, or exploring options like naturopathic care—you deserve to feel your best and have a plan that actually works for you.

Menopause isn’t just “hot flashes.” It can show up as brain fog, mood changes, sleep disruption, weight fluctuations, low energy, and more—and for many, getting timely, supportive care still isn’t easy.

Access to care matters. Everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and supported through this transition—not dismissed or told to “just deal with it.”

Naturopathic medicine can play an important role in menopause care, offering a personalized, whole-person approach. This may include hormonal support (like bioidentical hormones where appropriate), nutrition and lifestyle guidance, stress management, and targeted supplementation to help manage symptoms and support long-term health.

You don’t have to navigate this alone—there are options, and there is support available. Visit us at www.integrativenaturopathichealth.ca or call us at ☎ (905) 507-2016.

💗Heart Health Month ❤️

Your heart works for you every single day—supporting it with the right habits can make a powerful difference in how you feel now and in the future.

Simple, consistent choices matter:
• Prioritize whole, nutrient-dense foods
• Move your body regularly with cardiovascular and strength-based exercise
• Manage stress and support nervous system balance
• Prioritize quality sleep
• Address hormones, inflammation, and metabolic health
• Use bloodwork as a tool—not something to fear

Bloodwork provides valuable insight into your cardiovascular health, including cholesterol balance, inflammation, blood sugar, and nutrient status. Results aren’t a verdict—they’re information. Understanding what’s happening internally allows us to take proactive, preventative steps before symptoms or disease develop.

Heart health isn’t just about avoiding disease—it’s about building resilience, energy, and longevity. A root-cause, preventative approach empowers you to make informed decisions and take control of your health with confidence.

💗This month, let’s commit to caring for the heart—inside and out 💗
