This is winging of the scapulae! A condition that is caused by muscle imbalance. The first picture shows how the patient presented, combined with reduced range of motion in the shoulder accompanied by pain. The second is how the treatment was going, a vast reduction in the scapular pull, and the third, (zoomed in a little more) is the after effects of just one treatment. Permission was granted by the patient to share these photos for educational purposes, and to show others of how massage therapy can help with conditions & pain. Post treatment, pt had improved range of motion and no pain in the shoulders.

Between the fires in Canada and the USA, the quality of air outside is not best - especially if you have sensitivities or breathing conditions. Be safe, stay inside, cancel your outdoor activities until this passes.
