We are excited to invite you to an upcoming community open house at the Hamilton Italian Center!

Join us for an evening of connection, refreshments, and valuable information regarding the Ontario Autism Program (OAP).

When: Thursday, September 24th 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Where: Hamilton Italian Center, 420 Crerar Drive

Schedule:

6:00 PM – 7:00 PM: Open House

Come meet , & .services - meet our teams, learn about our services and enjoy some light refreshments in our rooms.

7:00 PM – 8:00 PM: AccessOAP Information Session

Join us for comprehensive presentation on the Ontario Autism Program, including:

✅Eligibility criteria and the application process.
✅A review of all service streams and supports available through the OAP.
✅Care Coordination.

Sometimes, you just have to take a chance.

When we started ACTN over 10 years ago, we took a huge leap of faith. There was no real business plan. No keys to a building. Just the belief that our teamwork, shared vision, and willingness to figure it out together could make it work.

Now, seeing this team grow to almost 50 members is beyond anything we could have imagined.

Over the years, we’ve watched sleep-deprived students become thriving professionals. We’ve seen couples buy their first homes and later raise families in them. We’ve watched people soar off to do incredible things, only to find their way back to us and make an even bigger impact.

Through the years, we realized that teamwork is not just about the people you work with. It’s also about the team supporting you when you go home…the parents, partners, siblings, friends, and children who are behind the scenes, cheering you on and reminding you of your “why”.

This weekend, we hosted our first ACTN Team BBQ & Bocce Tournament in Hamilton to celebrate our incredible team and the people who support them.

We also took a chance on the weather and although it didn’t work out exactly how we planned, we pivoted and still made the most of it. And that kind of what it’s all about.

Here’s to taking chances, building something together, and remembering that behind every great team is an even bigger community. ❤️

🎉What does this core value mean to you personally, and how do you incorporate it into your work each day?
...Engagement to me means to pour your heart into your work to promote clients success by creating fun and interactive ways to boost motivation. Engagement means being fully invested in the success and well-being of your client. It means bringing energy, creativity, and genuine care into every session to create meaningful learning experiences. I strive to make my sessions fun, interactive, and individualized to my clients interests.

🎉Can you share a moment from the past month where you felt you truly embodied this value?
..Over the past month, I felt I truly embodied this value by reshaping my clients programs to make them more interactive and engaging. Instead of presenting activities in a traditional format, I incorporated their individual interests, created hands-on materials, and found creative ways to teach the same skills through games. I noticed that my clients were more motivated to participate and remained engaged for longer periods. Seeing how a creative approach positively impacted their learning reinforced the importance of making engagement a priority in every session.

One example from the past month was creating sensory bins and bringing special materials into sessions that I knew would match my clients interests. Seeing their excitement and smiles is an amazing feeling! Moments like these reinforce the importance of bringing creativity and enthusiasm into every session because even small efforts can have a meaningful impact on a client's motivation and success.

🎉What song best captures your workstyle or puts you in the mindset to live out this core value?
..I honestly love any type of upbeat music. I always start my day with good and happy music. It has become an essential part of my daily routine and one of my favorite parts of the day. Music instantly lifts my mood. I can't imagine my life without it.
