Listening to a podcast, while speed walking in nature isn’t giving you the benefits you think it is šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

Yes, podcasts are a great way to learn!
Yes, daily movement is needed to stay healthy and strong!
Yes, getting out in nature is one of the best medicines!

But combining all these things together because ā€œthere aren’t enough hours in the dayā€, is only overwhelming your nervous system.

And your nervous system is the MASTER CONTROLLER of the body.

We are either overstimulated, in a fight/flight (aka stress) response. Or we are in a relaxed (parasympathetic) state.

We can’t be in both, it’s one or the other.

The parasympathetic state is also known as ā€œrest & digestā€ or ā€œrest & repairā€. Key word —> REST

So go for your walk in and soak up the sun, fresh air, sounds of nature!

Or grab a book, audiobook or podcast and listen to it while laying out in the sun (or shade if you burn easily like me) … just allow yourself the space to be a human BEING, and not always a human DOING.

Of course if you’re perfectly healthy and don’t care about healing, or the conditions required to support HOW the body heals, then forget everything I said and do you boo 😘

Every single client I’ve ever seen has struggled with some kind of digestive issues.

And about 80% of their issues can EASILY & QUICKLY be resolved with a few FREE & SIMPLE tweaks:

1. Chew your damn food!!
25-30 times for each bite. The average person only chews 5-8 times.

2. Say no to ice in your drinks!!
Icy cold drinks kill your digestive fire. If you want to take things a step further, don’t drink anything with your meal.

3. Get rid of the beige diet honey!!
Add some colour and fibre to your plate, greens aren’t gonna kill you. You’re grown sweetheart!

Reversing many of your digestive issues really can be this easy, you just gotta do it šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

What now?!

Slow down, no seriously … stop to smell the roses!

Recovering from burnout isn’t about going for a massage, booking a spa day, or taking a 3 day weekend.

It’s about slowing down, and not acting like everything is an emergency and HAS to get done today.

News flash Cinderella … when you finish that list of tasks, a dozen more will be waiting for you šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

Stop putting unnecessary pressure on yourself to get everything done this very moment.

As a practitioner who specializes in nervous system regulation, I know exactly where you’re at when your answer to ā€œhow have you been?ā€ Is … ā€œomg, it’s been so busy!ā€

You’re on the fast track to burnout.

Just because ā€œbusyā€ is your NORMAL, doesn’t mean it’s healthy for you, or anyone else around you.

BONUS: the same logic applies to people who respond with how ā€œtiredā€ they are.

These are important signals from your body - are you listening?

Which one of these sounds like you?

1. You work because bills need to be paid
2. Your boss is a šŸ† but you need the job
3. You work through your lunch/breaks
4. You spend 2+ hours a day commuting
5. Weekends feel like a get out of jail free card!
6. You spend most of Sunday dreading Monday
7. You’re too exhausted to workout
8. You sleep 5hrs or less
9. You’re constipated & have other digestive issues
10. You laugh at self-care posts and think ā€œno one has time for that!ā€

Adrenal exhaustion is real, and if you think you don’t have the time now to slow down and take care of yourself … buckle up buttercup, because one day your body will force you to slow down.

Take care of you NOW! Prioritize:
-sleep
-nourishing foods
-water
-movement
-slowing down & taking breaks

At the very least, stop hoarding your sick days & vacation days. No days off isn’t a flex. It’s a quicker path to burnout!

Don’t worry, this truth ruffled my own feathers when I first realized it.

We live in a world where we can access so much information FOR FREE. So quit your ā€œI can’t afford itā€ soundtrack!

The little things you do EVERY DAY move the needle the most. Have you (really) committed to the following:

āœ”ļøproper hydration
āœ”ļøremoving inflammatory foods
āœ”ļøgetting outside in nature
āœ”ļømoving your body AND strengthening it
āœ”ļøprioritizing sleep
āœ”ļølearning how to breathe

I’m gonna drop a reel next week on that last one, cause I know some of you are scratching your head right now šŸ˜‰

This list isn’t about quick fixes, or a 7 or 21 day challenge. And that’s where many of you struggle with your results & healing journey.

✨These are non-negotiables for healthy living.

That’s why I named my page Holistic Living 365 … because health is a choice. EVERY DAY. It’s not a quick fix, bio hack, or 24hr water fast.

It’s about taking accountability, UNLEARNING & LETTING GO of the habits that contributed to your dis-ease. And replacing them with new and better ones.

And here’s the kicker, everything on that list is FREE šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø
So what’s your excuse now?

I’m at the age where I don’t even need to drink to wake up feeling hung over the next morning … lack of quality sleeps does enough damage on its own! 😓

Did anyone else listen to all 3 albums at midnight, or was it just me?!

A late night event here and there is ok. We gotta live our lives right? But consistent poor sleep hygiene … that needs to be addressed ASAP!

Sleep isn’t a bank, you can’t make it up some other time. Sleep is critical and fundamental to your health & wellbeing.

✨I identify as a GERIATRIC MILLENNIAL & SAGITTARIUS through and through!

This means I’m refreshingly honest, fiercely independent, a truth seeker, deeply curious, love to travel, warm & compassionate, free spirited, quick witted, funny, with a dash of impatience & restlessness!

✨I quit my corporate career 3yrs ago to follow my passions of supporting others on their healing journey … AND I quit because of burnout & exhaustion.

I never want to be told when I can/cannot take a day off, or have a vacation request denied ever again! I missed my besties destination wedding and it still bothers me to this day.

Corporate needs to let us live our f*cking lives - does work/life balance mean nothing to you?!

✨I kinda swear like a trucker, but I promise I keep it professional when working with new clients šŸ™ˆ

✨I love most genres, but will forever have a soft spot for 90’s rap/hip hop/r&b, freestyle, old school euro, and the alternative music I grew up on. And still play that s**t on repeat like it was just released!
