Listening to a podcast, while speed walking in nature isnāt giving you the benefits you think it is š¤·š»āāļø
Yes, podcasts are a great way to learn!
Yes, daily movement is needed to stay healthy and strong!
Yes, getting out in nature is one of the best medicines!
But combining all these things together because āthere arenāt enough hours in the dayā, is only overwhelming your nervous system.
And your nervous system is the MASTER CONTROLLER of the body.
We are either overstimulated, in a fight/flight (aka stress) response. Or we are in a relaxed (parasympathetic) state.
We canāt be in both, itās one or the other.
The parasympathetic state is also known as ārest & digestā or ārest & repairā. Key word ā> REST
So go for your walk in and soak up the sun, fresh air, sounds of nature!
Or grab a book, audiobook or podcast and listen to it while laying out in the sun (or shade if you burn easily like me) ⦠just allow yourself the space to be a human BEING, and not always a human DOING.
