Pet Friday 🐾

Mr. Bones pays no bills.
Contributes nothing to the household.
Has never once offered to help with chores.

Yet somehow he's claimed the best seat in the house.

Show me your pets living their best entitled lives.

In just two weeks, we'll gather again for the Blairsville Death Cafe.

And in a little over a month, we'll celebrate our 2-year anniversary. 🖤

For nearly two years, people have come together to drink tea, eat cake, and have honest conversations about death, dying, grief, caregiving, and what it means to be human.

Some attend because they're grieving.
Some are caregivers.
Some are curious.
Some simply appreciate having a space where these conversations aren't off-limits.
(Spoiler alert-I don't use euphemisms-we say "death" "dead" "die" and "dying" as normal words. Because they are. This is all normal.)

If you've attended before, I'd love to hear what keeps bringing you back.

If you've never attended, consider this your invitation.

What would make you feel comfortable joining a Death Cafe?
What questions or hesitations do you have about attending?

Let's talk about it.

Thoughts?

Thoughts?

Did you know there is a 60% "intention gap" when it comes to our final wishes?

A national survey by found that while 92% of people believe talking about end-of-life care is incredibly important, only 32% have actually done it.

Talking about our wishes isn't about dying, it’s about empowering the people we love to make choices with confidence if we ever can't speak for ourselves. It relieves burden, reduces guilt, and brings peace of mind.

Let's close that gap.

Death doesn't care who you love. And I don’t either.
But unfortunately, people sometimes do.
During Pride Month, I'm thinking about the unique challenges many LGBTQ+ individuals face at end of life—from chosen family being overlooked to fears of discrimination, misgendering, or simply not being seen for who they are.
EVERY person deserves dignity, respect, and compassionate support as they navigate caregiving, grief, dying and death.
If you're part of the LGBTQ+ community, please know this: you are welcome here. Your identity matters. Your relationships matter. Your story matters.
EVERYONE deserves a good death, supported grief, and the freedom to be fully themselves.

I am a proud ally.

Well...I finally did it.

A while back, I opened an Etsy shop-Remi And Bones- and quietly started adding a few things I've created along the way. Until now, I've mostly kept it to myself while I figured out how Etsy, digital products, and all the behind-the-scenes pieces worked.

You'll find death doula shirts, a few resources, and as of today, my first digital bingo card bundle covering topics like grief, caregiving, death doula work, and end-of-life planning.

If you'd like to take a peek, I'll drop the link in the comments.

As always, thank you for supporting Ascending Intentionally. Every share, purchase, conversation, and recommendation helps me continue this work of making death, dying, grief, and caregiving a little less lonely.
