This little kitten was having a hard time maintaining her body temperature and getting comfortable. ACA Ilia snuggled her right up, she sighed and fell asleep. We love our job!

In late June we had the pleasure of hosting team members from Southeast Oakville Veterinary Hospital for a bandage lab with Dr. Hewitt.

Meet Scottie!

Scottie was diagnosed with progressive cutaneous angiomatosis, a rare condition that required specialized surgical care. Thanks to the expertise of Dr. Hewitt and our incredible surgical team, she is on the road to recovery and back to doing what she does best.

She may be the sweetest little girl, but don't let that fool you. At home, she is the fearless hunter of her brother, Meelo! We're so grateful to have been part of Scottie's journey and wish her many happy, healthy adventures ahead.

Severe heat warnings in Ontario - Safety Tips to prevent heat stroke in pets:

1. Limit outdoor activities to early morning or late evening
2. Provide adequate hydration and shade (cooling mats and vests work very well)
3. Modify Exercise (water play, enrichment hydration bowl treats)
4. Paw Protection on asphalt & concrete
5. Watch at risk breeds (short snouted breeds, seniors and overweight pets)
6. Do not leave pets in vehicles!
7. When going boating - place dogs in a lifejacket!

Kitten came into the ER for vomiting and lethargy. After a full abdominal ultrasound we discovered Kitten required surgery; she was transferred to our surgical department for an Enterotomy and we are happy to report she is recovering well post-operatively. We are so grateful to be able to care for and support Kitten and her family!

This sweet little man visited our ER for a front leg injury - we were able to make him comfortable and get him an internal surgical consult with Dr. Hewitt. He does not need surgery and is expected to make a full recovery with rest and pain management. He brightened all our days with his cuddles and sweet disposition!
