Fuel Up Friday š
Todayās āfuelā didnāt come from a perfectly balanced plate⦠it came from perspective.
My son got kicked out of camp.
Twice.
In under two weeks.
And if Iām being honest, my first reaction wasnāt calm, grounded, or ādietitian-approved.ā It was frustration, worry, and that quiet voice asking, āWhat am I doing wrong?ā
But hereās what Iām learning (and relearning):
Children with ADHD donāt need more punishment⦠they need more connection.
So instead of pushing harder, we paused.
We slowed things down.
We leaned into quality time ā splash pads, laughter, being present, letting him just be.
And you know what?
Thatās nourishment too.
⨠Nourishment isnāt just whatās on your childās plate
⨠Itās how safe they feel in your presence
⨠Itās the moments where theyāre seen, not āfixedā
⨠Itās choosing connection over perfection
To the parent who feels like things arenāt going as planned right now ā I see you.
Your child is not ātoo much.ā
Your child is wired differently.
And that difference deserves understanding, not shame.
This season may not look like the one you imagined⦠but there is still so much growth happening here.
Today, weāre fuelling up with patience, grace, and a whole lot of love. š
