What if your sensitivity wasn’t something that needed fixing? 🍃
J’ai passé toute ma vie à me sentir différente.
Trop sensible.
Trop susceptible.
Trop pleureuse.
Trop sérieuse.
Trop souvent malade.
Je me disais :
« Je suis mal faite. »
----------------------------------------
I’ve spent my whole life feeling different.
Too sensitive.
Too touchy.
Too tearful.
Too serious.
Too often sick.
Not strong enough.
Not tough enough.
Not expressive enough…
In short, I never really felt like I belonged.
So, over the years, I hid behind a mask that wasn’t mine.
I’d tell myself:
“I’m just not cut out for this.”
“I’m sick all the time—that’s just who I am.”
When something touched me deeply, I’d disappear so as not to show that I’d been struck right in the heart.
I appeared at ease in situations where, deep down, I was profoundly uncomfortable.
I took criticism without showing my disagreement, so as not to let my emotions show.
I projected the image of a confident person, even though deep down, I was often anxious.
Then I became a mom.❤
And that’s when something shifted.
I could no longer keep up that facade.
I saw, in my children, their sensitivity in its purest form… and there I was, trying to change it.
Just as I’d learned to do for myself.
But through their eyes, I began to learn to love and accept that sensitivity.💫
That sensitivity that brings so much gentleness, empathy, and kindness to others.💫
And, little by little, I wanted to give myself—too—that gentleness and kindness that I’d never really known how to give myself.💫
As I went through this learning process, I realized that the goal wasn’t to become less sensitive. It was to learn to live with my sensitivity without letting it drain me.
❤Without having to hide it.
❤Without having to apologize.
❤Without having to become someone else.
What if, in the end, your sensitivity isn’t the problem?
What if you simply need to learn to live with it in a different way?
Is this something you wish you’d heard sooner?🙏
