✨ The Mother Hen Golden Hour ✨

Those first 60 minutes after birth are incredibly precious. 🤍

Whenever it is medically safe and possible, baby deserves the opportunity to be placed directly on their parent’s chest for uninterrupted skin-to-skin contact—to feel their warmth, hear their heartbeat, and begin getting to know one another.

The Golden Hour can support:
🤍 Bonding and connection
🤍 Baby’s temperature, breathing & heart rate
🤍 Early feeding cues and chestfeeding
🤍 A calm transition into the world

It’s not about rushing a first feed or following a perfect timeline. It’s about giving parents and babies time and space to simply be together.

And if medical circumstances mean that Golden Hour looks different than planned, that’s okay. Bonding has no deadline. ❤️

At Mother Hen, I believe those first moments matter. Whenever possible, let’s protect them. 🐣✨

At Mother Hen Doula Services, I believe there is no one “right” way to give birth.

Whether you are planning an unmedicated birth, hoping for an epidural, preparing for a planned caesarean, welcoming a baby after an induction, navigating a high-risk pregnancy, planning a home birth, or simply taking things one moment at a time — I support all births and all birth choices. 🤍

My role is not to tell you how to birth your baby.

My role is to support you.

To help you feel informed, empowered, prepared and heard. To provide evidence-based information, continuous emotional and physical support, comfort measures, encouragement and a calm presence throughout your journey.

Birth can be unpredictable. Plans can change. And sometimes the most empowering birth is the one where you feel supported in making the choices that are right for you and your family.

A clients Review: Thank you Mandy for being a part of my first pregnancy journey every step of the way. A couple years ago I stumbled upon Mandy’s Motherhen Doula page where I genuinely felt connected with her as the best fit for whenever my motherhood time has come. Last fall I found out I was going to be a Mom to my baby boy and I instantly reached out to Mandy hoping she would be available to support my journey as my Doula, the stars aligned and it was the best decision I’ve made. Overtime, from my pregnancy to post partum, Mandy has helped me feel at ease as I was nervous about this new chapter. She provided her knowledge with every question I had, gave me peace of mind and was a huge support whether it was through a call, a text and in person. After I was induced, Mandy was by my side throughout everything I had to go through the 2 long days I was at the hospital. From walks around the hospital, the great talks and being an anchor through all the tough procedures I’ve went through to welcome this healthy baby boy. Mandy is so positive, patient, honest and kind. She genuinely cares and it shows. Thank you Mandy for everything you do and for being a big part of my journey.
