We’ve been thinking a lot about what it means to be cared for.
So often, we’re taught to understand care as something private. Something we seek when things become too much. Something that happens behind a closed door, one person at a time.
But Black communities have always known something different. We know what it means to gather. To sit around a table. To share what we have. To witness each other through difficult seasons. To laugh, rest, listen, pray, process, and remind one another: you are not alone.
Collective Care Circles are an extension of that wisdom.
They are part of BHC’s ongoing exploration of what mental health and healing can look like when care is rooted in community, culture, relationship and belonging.
This fall, we’re opening our first circle for Black women-identifying folks. Twelve Sundays to slow down, reflect, connect and make room for whatever you’re carrying.
You don’t have to arrive with a diagnosis.
You don’t have to know exactly what you need.
You don’t even have to have the words.
Just come as you are.
Our first circle begins September 20.
Limited spaces are available. Link in bio to apply.
