Exciting news! 🎉 I’ll now be working at the Montreal Daoist Arts Community Centre—a beautiful space with a big gorgeous tea table, a spacious studio for Chen Tai Chi classes with acupuncturist Greg Schnabel, and private rooms for acupuncture and manual therapy.

Starting Monday, the 28th, I’ll be offering tuina treatments there on a sliding scale of $90–$120 per hour.
For those unfamiliar, tuina ("tway-nah") is a traditional Chinese manual therapy with techniques similar to sports massage, shiatsu, osteopathy, and Thai massage, all done fully clothed. I’ve been practicing tuina since 2019, hold CEUs in several other modalities, and provide insurance receipts as a massage therapist.

I’ll still be seeing clients at Acusociale Hochelaga, and now also at this new location just 5 minutes from metro Monk.

Curious about the deeper wisdom behind the classical Chinese arts? Workshops are coming soon—designed for seekers, artists, and healers interested in how Daoist, Confucian, and early Chinese philosophy connect with classical Chinese arts, meditative practice, and everyday life.

Here’s an obscure tuina massage technique that gets great results.
I’m combining a sports massage approach here with some of the “hands of tuina.”
First, I test the quadratus lumborum (QL) with some quick acupressure, then apply my elbow to stretch, massage, and relax the muscle.
When the muscle tension stops my elbow from gliding through it, I create a vibration from my wrist that travels through the elbow into the muscle and causes it to relax. After gliding through the muscle I follow through with circular finger pressure and repeat until the muscle lets go. Rather than gliding through the muscle over and over again, the vibration gets the job done quickly so I can move on to another area.
