Call for artists! Français ci-dessou**

"In recent weeks, many anti-racism resources and educational materials have been community-generated and shared on social networks, mostly in English. These tools are essential in the ongoing practice of anti-racism and we want to make them more accessible to the Francophone community in Montreal and Quebec.

We are therefore soliciting people who are able to do English to French translation to join us for an online marathon. We also invite the graphic designers of our community to layout the translated resources, which will then be shared via the social networks of the two centres."

as we all looks for ways to channel our anger, rage, and inability to take the bu****it any longer, let us channel our desire to burn it all down into sustained, long-term efforts to burn 👏🏾 it 👏🏾 all 👏🏾 down 👏🏾 let’s mobilize and find our tribes and dismantle white supremacy industrty by industry, system by system, individual by individual. in order to do this, we must find our tribes, make our tribes if they don’t already exist, and commit to action through whatever work/practice/medium/etc makes sense to each of us.
to my black folk: there’s been so many amazing resources going around of intersectional black orgs/collectives/ecosystems. if you’re looking to work alongside our people to dismantle and transform s**t and don’t know where to start; check out these orgs and see if the ones that speak to you need volunteers!

and those who are non-black: honestly, before y’all offer to help with anything, please read up. open your eyes, your ears, and your wallets. do your homework. there’s so much literature going around. start black radical reading book clubs for non-black poc/white people. start repartation clubs where y’all read read a new book each month and pay collective dues to black folk.
either way, to all of us, don’t stop doing the work. the fall of white supremacy is coming. and they’re going to fight to the tooth and nail to save it. so we have to fight harder and longer to win. and even harder and longer to build a better future to come after the fall."

Posted • .creates Yesterday, in yet another act of anti-black police violence causing mass outrage, George Floyd yelled “I can’t breathe” and pleaded for his life as a white Minneapolis police officer violently pinned him down with his knee on his neck. George died after. He was murdered in broad daylight. His death is reminiscent of the death of Eric Garner. Even with a crowd yelling at him to stop and while folks filmed the murder, the cop did it anyway, showing the massive injustice, zero accountability and white supremacy embedded in the “criminal justice” system. Heartbroken, angry and disgusted. This must end. Much love and solidarity to Black communities grieving another beautiful life lost. May George Floyd Rest in Power.
