I took a long, unplanned break. I needed a little space to catch up with myself, to absorb some changes.
There are moments when we choose change. We decide to begin something, shift direction, take a risk. And then there are moments when change finds us.
Something shifts in our life, in a relationship, in our body, in our work, or in our understanding of who we are. We may continue functioning for a while. We do what needs to be done, go through the motions. But underneath, something knows that the old way of moving through the world no longer quite works.
Certain transitions ask something of us. They ask us to become more honest about what we have been tolerating or avoiding. To recognize the places where we have been quietly abandoning ourselves. To meet ourselves where we are in reality more honestly. Not so that we can reinvent ourselves into a shinier, more "optimized" version of who we were before.
So that we can return to something more truthful.
That is where I have been lately: giving a process the attention it needed.
And now, slowly, returning. It's good to be back :)
