I was a really shy kid from Sherbrooke.
Which is kinda ironic now.
I wanted to do radio.
I did.
I wanted to act.
I did that too.
And somewhere along the way, I realized how much I love speaking.
Not performing.
Speaking about the things I’ve lived.
The things I’ve learned.
The work I now get to do with women every day.
Yesterday, I got to do a little more of that at CAPS Montréal, speaking about something at the heart of my work: What happens when we stop abandoning ourselves.
And I freaking loved it.
Thank you Elizabeth Smart for always encouraging me and for those little “there’s only one spot left, Sandra” nudges.
Thank you Julie Dionne , my speaking coach, for helping me sharpen my message without taking the “me” out of it.
And to all the other speakers who shared the stage and inspired me, thank you.
The shy kid from Sherbrooke just kept taking the next step.
And I think that’s the whole point.
You don’t need to see the whole road.
Just take the next step.
Mine?
TED Talk.
There. I said it.
What’s your next step? Pls share in the comments. 🙏🏽
