That five-minute getting-dressed struggle is about much more than a shirt.
In my coaching work, this is one of the first places I look for skill-building opportunities, because the small daily tasks are where real progress happens.
If it were really just about a shirt, then choosing between two options would not matter. Asking for help would not matter. Tolerating frustration would not matter. But those are the exact moments where communication, confidence, and independence get built.
The tiny tasks that feel annoying or never-ending are often the biggest practice reps in your child's day. One choice. One clear request. One arm in the sleeve. Those are not throwaway moments. They are real skill-building wins.
So no, getting dressed is not a small problem to brush off. It is a daily opportunity to support bigger growth with less pressure and more clarity.
