I am deeply honored to have been named a Fellow of the Académie Dentaire du Québec.
Fellowship in the Académie Dentaire du Québec is limited to a maximum of forty dentists at any given time. The Academy recognizes individuals who, throughout their careers, have made exceptional contributions to the advancement of dentistry in Québec. To be welcomed into this prestigious institution alongside my professors, colleagues, and the many leaders and legends who have shaped dentistry in Québec makes this recognition deeply meaningful.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Mel Schwartz for his nomination and confidence in me, and to Dr. Robert Dorion for his generous introduction during the ceremony. I would also like to warmly congratulate my fellow inductees, whose remarkable contributions continue to elevate our profession and inspire us all.
As the son of Vietnamese boat-people refugees, being recognized by the professional community of the province that welcomed my family and allowed us to build a future carries profound personal significance. I was particularly moved to learn that, throughout the history of the Academy, only one Fellow of Vietnamese origin had been inducted before me. Sharing this moment with my mother, who was present at the ceremony, made the occasion especially emotional and meaningful for our family.
Being one of the youngest Fellows inducted into the Academy is an additional honor that I receive with humility and gratitude. I do not take this recognition lightly. It is not a finish line, nor a signal to slow down, but a renewed responsibility. I remain fully committed to working as hard as ever to advance dentistry in Québec, support research, educate the next generation, and actively fulfill the mission and values of the Académie Dentaire du Québec.
With gratitude and determination, the journey continues.
