New multilingual mental health infosheets for newcomers, with audio recordings (CMHA BC). The Canadian Mental Health Association’s BC Division has released seven plain-language infosheets to support the mental health of newcomers to Canada: Depression; Grief; How to Reduce Anxiety; Newcomer Stress: Big Moves Are Hard — There Is Help; Things to Know About Canadian Ways; Tips for Good Mental Health; and Who Can Help Me? Learning the Health System.
Each infosheet has been translated into nine languages — Arabic, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Hindi, Pashtu, Persian/Farsi, Punjabi, Spanish and Ukrainian — and recorded as audio by professional voice artists, making the information accessible to readers and listeners alike. While some sections highlight British Columbia services, most of the content applies across Canada.
You can browse all of the infosheets at cmha.bc.ca/newcomer, or find them by language on our Patient Information by Language page and on our Newcomers page.
